Thermometer placement

Hey guys,

Will post a pic of my setup when the lights come on.

My question is! Where the fuck do i place my thermo.

I have a until with a main display/sensor and a remote sensor. I grow in a closet so I have the base station furtherest from the intake and the remote directly under the middle of my light. Seems to do the trick.

BUT

Everyone recommends not to have it under direct light, which to me seems silly as the plants are under direct light and surely if you were to cover the sensor then you wouldn't know what temps your plants really are at?!

Let the topic begin!

even with the canopy of your plants. direct light on the sensor can affect the reading because different materials hold light energy in different ways based on density, composition and color. say your thermo is black in color and made from plastic the black plastic will hold more heat than white plasitic would so the temperature reading is affected. This is why you keep it in the shade, unless you want to fight with a false high temp reading.
