There is a new type of cannabis strain. Sativa, Indica, ......and RASTA???

Check this out. I just read this shit on the ABC news website, and Reasearchers have found an entirely new strain type of cannabis plant, found in the Cannabis DNA structure, that suggests that yet another line of cannabis strains can and will be bred. Theyve named it the RASTA cannabis line. Check the shit out for yourself...

It fuckin bugged me out too when i read it. If this is already old information, sorry about that, but to hear about a new typa chronic thats more potent than both Indica and Sativa....Count my ass in, lol.

Maybe theyre perfecting the cannabis type, n some lab freak is just sittin in a lab somewhere, bitin on his nails, fuckin waitin for the perfect time to snatch up either a few clones or seeds, n run the fuck away n become famous?? or they coulda just gave up on it, but what if man, you never know....

in fact, since the article only mentions sativa and indica... its possible that these fools are simply referring to ruderalis

I hope that "Mr. Gilmore" knows more about cannabis than the dumbass who wrote that article. The article doesn't mention Ruderalis or Hemp and it claims rope is/was made from Indica.

As far as I know there is already a fourth sub-species that is gaining widespread acceptance throughout the scientific community - and it sure as Hell doesn't have a "cutesie" name like Rasta - it's good old Afgani! But this isn't new information either, Afgani was singled out as a seperate sub-species awhile back.

My point is, just because some strain has been reclassified as a new sub-speciecs - doesn't mean that it hasn't already been around for a long time. People will smoke whatever is good, so if this new stuff is any good - you best be beleivin' that someone has been smoking it for awhile - and breeding it, if it's that good! You can rename it; whatever you want - dank is still dank!

i wanted to flat out refute you... but your words rang a bell, so i looked some info up in my "Cannabible":

- "Marijuana from Afghanistan is generally called Afghani. This is what we commonly refer to as -indica-, although a more accurate name would be C. Afghanica." (Thus, indica and afghanica are one in the same.)

- "It should be noted that any strain from Afghanistan is an indica, while everything else is a sativa."

- "Prior to 1980, a few breeders also worked with weedy sativa varieties from Central Europe. Most Western growers call these varieties 'ruderalis'. These weedy varieties begin maturing in July or early August, which hastens the maturity of outdoor hybrid marijuana varieties. So, as far as i know, there are only 3 varieties of marijuana. A shite load of sativas with a great deal of variety and which are usually fairly potent. Some indicas which trace their origin to Afghanistan and should be most noted for their use in making hashish. And the ruderalis variety, which i would guess is what was brought to the 'New World' of America in order to make rope, nets, etc. (hemp)

So who's going to Jamaica? Ship a bunch of cuttings out stealth and pass them around, then we'll see if there's a difference.

what about Landrace?? wouldnt landrace be classified in its own right when talking cannabis?? So, Indica, Sativa, Ruderalis, and Landrace, right?
