Hmmm, i don't think they create hotspots, because I have my top growth less than an inch below the light and haven't had problems.

I think hot spots are only made when the reflective material doesn't diffuse the light that it returns. The inside of the cans diffuse the light pretty well (as opposed to a mirror which doesn't diffuse the light at all).

Well maybe Ill have to do that once my seedlings are a little more mature just in case so that I dont burn them :D

DAY 9 of 12/12

Thank you all for stoppin by.

Today is just another regular day.
No water, but soon.
Plant 2 grew an inch or so vertically.
All plants have a lot of quickly growing secondary growth.
The CFLs are keeping even those areas full of light!
However, more lights means higher temps.
I reached 85 max yesterday =/.
Never thought temps would be my main issue.
But I'll just keep trying new methods of keepin it cool.
I might just take a big bucket of water and let it cool outside overnight, then bring it inside during the day to keep the entire closet cooler.

Day 10 of 12/12

Today each plant was watered 5 cups of pH 6 water.

I believe they are reacting again to heat stress. Unfortunately a lot of this has to do with day temps and is for the most part out of my control. Ambient temps most often hover at 80-85F.

I raised the lights a good inch or two.

Anyone know how long it takes on average for pre-flowers to show?

DAY 12 of 12/12

AIGHT EVERYONE, CHECK THIS:
PLANT 1 IS A CONFIRMED FEMALE
PLANT 2 IS A CONFIRMED MALE
PLANT 3 STILL UNKNOWN BUT LOOKS TO BE FEMALE

Hot damn. 2/3 isn't bad. And the best 2 plants!

I am not sure what to do with the male yet. I've thought about just making some more seeds so I don't have to buy more, but I'm just not sure. Must do some more reading.

Thanks man. Good luck with that new light, I'd be interested to see how that goes.
As for the male, I don't think i'll be able to get enough of anything out of it. It's so small! I think i might try and collect some pollen and pollinate a smaller bud or something. I dunno. Maybe i'll make salad.

Why not collect some pollen and then try and cook with the rest, its worth a shot to get a little bit. Or yeah a salad is always nice, haha
