I usually top at the 4th-5th node during veg. You can top as many times as you want. I try to finish with topping and LST training 2 weeks before flowering so that the plants recover and can focus on flowering.

Thanks for your input. Obviously, I won't prune or top any of the plants in flowering, it's too late but what can I do for the crop in veg?
I did a combination of LST and fimming + scrog during the veg stage of my WW. Trying supercropping on my next grow.

The screen worked out great for creating an even canopy for my plant, have a look at my grow journal in my sig (WW Clone) for any tips.

Isn't it amazing how much the plant changes in the last 2-3 weeks?... I cannot get over it..:-). Mine are still covered with young white hairs at 9 and a half weeks...I looked closely last night and i have heaps of amber hairs coming thru, very excited... I flushed the entire system last night and now they get nothing but water till they're ready...:-) My widow has heaps of leaves all over it.. I'm hoping that's a good thing, cause the plant is looking really good...

Sorry to be a noob pain in the arse but what do people think about starting 12/12 at just 12" tall plants from seed? they are in soil and although they have had 6 weeks veg only 1 1/2 weeks has been under the 600w dual spectrum HPS the other 4 weeks has been under 63w of cfl's in my cabinet.

PS. they are showing the hairs so i know they are ready i could just do with a hint as to how much on average the WW stretches after the switch?

My tallest NWW from my first batch was flowered at 11 inches tall, and it ended up at around mid twenties I think. Ill measure later tonight when lights come on.

If you do want to reduce the stretch, use veg nutes with low P during the first two weeks. Phosphorous causes plants to stretch, and using it during their stretch period will no doubt exacerbate it.

I just went and picked up a pocket microscope from Radioshack right before they closed.

I had called ahead asking if they had it, and when I show up, a lady customer up front yells out, "The microscope guy is here." They must been talking about me, and what it was for.

The guy who rung me up was early 20's and he knew exactly what it was haha. He said his buddy had bought the same type but it had 420 written on it, and he had paid 25 bucks for it, while it was 13 there. Greedy people ripping off pot heads. :cuss:

Around 2:50 AM Im gonna open up the tent, and start inspecting the ladies. Hopefully theres someone in there ready to go.

Looks like you've got a little bit more to go. Have you picked up a scope yet?

My ladies at day 65 look like they're actually doing a little bit of foxtailing at the top. Im probably pretty close at this point.

White Widow mother in soil, lst soon to go outside. and 8 clones going into flowering one week from today.

Here is the flower room under a 400 watt MH, soon to be 600 watt HPS cooltube. the plants already flowering are 13 bagseed seedlings but the next batch in my perpetual ebb and flow will be all white widow.

Im so pumped about this strain, the pictures ive seen on this thread make my mouth water in anticipation.
got few questions tho,
should i lolipop or lst?
how strong should my nutes be for first 3 weeks, second three weeks and last two weeks of flowering?
also how long should i flower in ebb and flow system?

Hi there,
You don't need to lollypop until you are a few weeks into flower and the canopy has evened out.. 3-4 is usually a good time..

about your nutes, what ever the label says, do a little less than than, just for a week or so, then increase to full strength... Are you using an EC meter? Or PPM pen? If you don't have these, you really should get one... Is your pH good?

Last two weeks of flowering you should use nothing but water to flush the plants free of chemicals and residuals..Its going to be a long flowering period so you really want to flush them, pure water is the best, but tap will do a great job..:-)

How long you should flower depends on the strain, not the system... White widow will take you at least 11 weeks to fully develop kick arse buds...:-)
Hope this helps Laceygirl....

Hey LG
Have a question - what do you do if you have 2 plants flowering but different 12/12 start/finish times. Will it hurt the younger one to get nothing but water for 2 weeks? I was thinking about not flushing the first one, then figured maybe I better anyways - but not sure if it will hurt the younger one not getting any nutes for 2 weeks??? Please advise.
Thanks

Hello White Widow Club! On January 12th I picked up a nice looking, rooted, about 6" tall WW clone from my fav local club. Brought it home, while I was getting stuff ready, my cat came in and ate all the foliage on the plant! So, it started off as a rooted stalk pretty much.

I just started 12/12 yesterday. Plant is under 4x 23 watt 2700k CFLs and 2x 28 watt 5000k CFLs. I planted it into MG citrus and cactus soil, havent used any added nutes and have been using filtered water.

Id say its about 15" or so tall. It tripped me out how it developed 2 colas after my cat pruned it for me LOL.

Here are some pics, let me know what you guys think! PS, soil ph is struggling between 7-7.5. Any sugestions on how to lower it on the cheap? Thanks! :weed:

Its amazing the plant recovered so well. Nice job. Your plant looks damned healthy, so I wouldn't chase your tail over a ph that really isn't an issue right now.

Hello :-) Two weeks is a long time for babies not to recieve food.. Is there any way you can get around it? Like hand watering or feeding... How bout foliar feeding for those two weeks? But do it just before your lights turn off, so you don't get nute burn from the lights... I've never tried it, but you could give it a go...Let me know how you're going to tackle it... Laceygirl...:-)

So was I!!!! lol... I know it seems like a long time, but you'll look at your plants at 8 weeks and you'll see that they are NOWHERE near ready... I was so bummed cause I wanted to fast crop it.. But with Widow, there's just no way... Please trust me, when I tell you you'll be thanking me for the three week extension advice...

Here are some pics of my buds at different stages, You will see what I mean when you're plants start to take shape... The whole head of the plant is changing and I am in week 9...Perservere with the Widow, that's why its one of the best smokes in the world... It needs a long flower with heaps of love...:-)

I will go thru my photos and find the ones that show the best comparisons...

Laceygirl...
