4 lumens per watt extra is pretty minor and you have to take into account the fact that, the ballasts also draw some power. When I was planning my most recent space for example I was debating two 600w vs two 1000w. My 1000w lamp is rated at 146,000 lumens a 600w 90,000 lumens. So 2x 146,000 = 292,000 vs 2x90,000= 180,000.

That is a big difference! Two thousand watt lamps put out 112,000 more lumens! Two 1000w lamps equal more than THREE 600w lamps!

So how in the hell is a 600 watt lamp "more efficient" than a 1000w lamp?

Like I said before it is Jorge Cervante's bullshit . . . .

True but a 1000w lamp is almost TWICE as intense as a 600w lamp. That is a big difference.

The cool tube comment you made is silly, the glass of the cool tube refracts a minor amount of light if it is good glass and the cooling benefits FAR outweigh the light loss.

So there you have it I'll stop hijacking the thread now, sorry peeps post your
White Widow pics!:weed:

No one said how much more efficient they are..
Nothing was said about cool tubes reflecting.
And of course 2 1000s are more than three 600s. We can add.
You have clearly missed the point.

3 400 watters will give twice the parr watts than one 1000 watter, with only 200 more watts. Due to heat and distance factors. Factor in air cooled 1000 watt and you loose 10 percent of light through the glass and have half the light spread. a light mover and you now have 1200 watts. With more light sources lower buds have 2 to 3 light sources now, and less leaf shading. I have gone from 1000 down to 3 400's (currently 2 in use) and couldnt be happier. Thanks Jorge C.
OK here it is all over again and I still don't agree with that methodology. If you are getting poor light spread with your 1000, get a better reflector . . .

and Jorge C. is a poser:fire:

Enjoy your three 400's . . . with that I'm out.:joint:

Yes he poses to be mexican your right.
Its about light spread, Your 1000 is only delivering 35000 lumens 2 feet away. On other hand the 400s are delivering more than is rated at 8 inches away. Make sense now? If not go back to school.

He poses to be a grower, the guy plagerizes most of his info and then adds in total bullshit.

My experience does not lie to me but Jorge C sure as hell does.

Maybe in his next book he can tell us all how T5's are so much better than HID's because you can put lots of them closer to the plants :wall:

Don't get insulting (unless you insult Jorge C:-P). I am well aware of what you are talking about and it is flawed logic.

I understand bro, I'm not debating the inverse square law. You are right it is simple!~

A lower wattage light has less initial lumens and light reduction is exponential with increased distance from the source.

Believe the guy with fake dreads:wall:
Very good, now how close can a 1000 watt get...2feet. now how close can a 600 watt get... 18 inches minimum.. now my 400watts are currently at 10 inches. 10 inches below my canopy is receiving 55,000 lumens. At three points that is 165,000 lumens total. 1000 watts at 2 feet is giving the plant only 35,000 lumens. Add another 1000watt 2 feet away and you have 70,000 usable lumens to the plant.(THIS IS WHERE YOU APPLY THE INVERSE SQUARE LAW) More points of light at closer distance= more light to the plants.

If you cant understand that.... then you are hopeless...

Just cause you cant understand, dont blame someone who has done decades of research, and has visited thousands of grow rooms through out.

We learn as we go.... but you have to start somewhere.

You still think I'm too dumb to understand what you are saying . . . .:wall:

I really understand, you don't have to explain any further, and 10 in below your canopy is not getting 55,000 lumens as much as you would like to believe it.

And Jorge Cervantes has not done decades of research, 90% of his material is stolen from other sources.

No sweat, I thought it was engaging:clap:
That actually is a valid discussion
I watched his video's last year and was flamed on here for not kissing the guys ass as the worlds most knowledgeable ganja grower. I actually preferred the Blue guy on you tube.

But now I get my Knowledege from you guys and trial and error.

I Switched the timer from 24/0 to 18/6 now.

2 of my girls cotyledon are yellowing and the leaves are starting to yellow a tad too.

The bigger one with the most growth is still a solid lush green.

I'm using the 3 part Gh floral nutes.
So I start with 1/4 strength green bottle (vegg)
Or 1/4 of all three?
Thanks
~~Joe~~
