the weather

i just wouldn't feel right if i let this go. wednesday we got 2 feet of snow. pain in the ass blah blah blah. probably herniated a disc shoveling. anyway, that night i turn on the weather channel for the totals and i see that atlanta had been BROUGHT TO ITS KNEES over four fucking inches. now i know it's not exactly in atlanta's best economical interest to set aside millions of dollars for snow they might never get, but are you fucking serious? the whole city has 12 snow plows. LMAO. why even bother? it's fucking georgia. the shit just melts the next day anyway. they are closing some schools until TUESDAY. if those pussies could see the condition of some of the streets during a real storm in the north they would be ashamed of themselves. i have a sedan and i have to take my sorry ass to work whether the streets have been plowed or not. and in real snow, not that pussy shit. i have included a picture of how it currently looks in front of my house. the sidewalks and streets are dry because we shovel and plow and salt them OUR DAMN SELVES. i know there is nothing in that pic for scale but just so you know that mound of snow is 4 feet high and 5 feet wide from sidewalk to street. my street has been narrowed by 3-4 feet on each side. that's what snow looks like, and this isn't even near what we could have got.

Yes, winters up north don't be bullshit'in! I'm ready for May to get here already....LOL

Yeah it snowed a crap load here, Atlanta, and then it rained later that night, yeah IDK how, and made all the snow ice. Now idk about you but shoveling ice isnt as easy as snow. If you go out on the streets all the roads are shiny as hell from them being ice. The ice hast melted for a whole week and its still frozen as of right now since it hasnt even gotten over 30 degress this whole week to make the ice melt. The sun is barely gonna come out today which is good and will most likely melt the stuff away. Now we live in the south and its hilly as hell right here every turn you make theres an uphill a small car wont make it or most cars as a matter of fact.

The thing is, the south never prepares for winter ice and possibly snow until it's too late. I lived down south for years and have been through both ice storms and snow storms, and I think they both suck equally as bad. Where I live it starts snowing around November and doesn't stop until like April, so as bad as it seems down there now, you really should consider yourself lucky!

if i may refer you to the great new england ice storm of '08, you can see a "real" ice storm as well. ice is not unique to the south lol. by the way it's 18 degrees here right now and the ground is dry because we use assloads of salt so we can rot our our car floors so you can see the street while you drive. well, not since the 90's but still. the fact is you all only think it's bad weather because your government is completely unprepared, not that you can fault them for it. for the luxury of not having your snow removed you enjoy tax rates that would make me and my neighbors suicidal.
