shit like this gives you an adrenaline rush fro shok n awe factor..
Sup Fnk-Dr..? -sound like the ray liotta of copters) and yeah, he -Mamoth- did leave h2o on light drip if u read ree close.. Key to salvaging submerged ballasts is not testing until completely dry - wait days.. {adversity makes for strong growers, like cambium workout.

i think you've got the rt idea for the timebeing,
"chinese delivery and smoking a fattie"
here's to better days man - future is sunny

I'm sorry to hear that. Man you must be way up north with those temps. How far up if you don't mind me asking. Is it impossible to insulate enough to keep your room warm with the lights. Those trics are probably already falling off at that temp. Since your venting I will too. I had a fucking helicopter checking out my house about 3 times in the last week. I had to get all my shit in NC and load it up in a uhaul. I didn't make it past toledo before my girls were icicles. I was running coco too, which was a frozen block. I don't even want to waste my time with any hermies so fuck it I guess I'll have to start from seed again. I could have avoided this if I would have got up here when I was wanting to, but at least I'm free.
I'm in the far western yoop. Next to Wisconsin, on superior. I see you mention Toledo, im originally from that area. It's sucks seeing your ladies freezing in a uhaul. I'm sure I'll get some hermies but my patients know the severity of this problem and are cool with a few white premie seeds.

Edit., next time, hopefully there will be no next time, get a mr buddy heater,a little propane heater
youncan run inn the back of a uhaul.

Shit fuck!!! Sorry bud.

Yeah dont write off your ballasts just yet. I hav a 30yr old 400 with a high water mark from way back in time. Grab Ur propane lantern when u need heat and light. 3-3.5 hours from a litte bottle or hook em to a big cylinder.

U need help with moms or whatever feel free to hit me up

Haha def not a keeper, I think it was like 9000$ I had a few laughs as I was standing there. But yes, I'm not in jail and it could be worse. At least maybe I'll be pulling something instead of nothing. Just got an attitude order today too. That put a smile on my face seeing that package after I got home. The u.p. is great until it's in the negatives for weeks at a time.
i yoosta be a yooper! i agree! u.p. is great.but you know what i think i'd even take the negatives for a while-bundle the nhell up and enjoy! sorry about your loss must of been devastating. good luck mama

So I had a pretty shitty morning, gotta vent. I keep my garden at a different place than where I live, I have a daughter and don't mix the two up. I go to my place every other day, I run ebb and flow so the ph and everything is good for a few days at a time. I go over this morning and had a pipe burst upstairs and I've got 5 inches of standing water on every floor of my house. Killed all the power and it's been minus 10 every night.I've got an ice rink where my 6 week flowering plants used to be. They may be at least save able for hash. My mother plants had frost on the roots, not looking good. All my ballasts are fried as they are sitting in a lake right now. My walls are falling off. I couldn't even manage taking pics with my phone yet because it's royally fucked up. I got a few cuttings off my moms and am praying for a fresh start. House hunting begins. I took every measure I thought I could take, I had heaters in every room. I had a heater in the room where it burst. I leave my water on a drip. I will now be checking my grow every day. You don't want this to happen.
i just replied to your post about you going ice skating and then i came back to the beginning of thread(i forgot why!(lol))) but you mention in this statement that you have an ice rink where your flowering plants used to be...is that where you are going to skate? lol

You guys must have missed where I said I had the water on a drip and had space heaters in every room. I guess leaving the water on a drip when its minus 15 is a futile effort. I've got an icicle from my drain to my faucet where I had it running.
@glad, we talked numerous times about getting a camera that we can setup to a phone and now we are regretting this big time.
I wonder how many people read your post and said out loud minus 15 wtf!
I've said since my first trip to the UP, people should need a passport at the bridge
cuz it's a different fucking world up here.
the pros and cons are absolutely endless.
Mad props to anyone who braves a UP winter.

I think you were smart to have your grow in a separate location
from your family. I'm sure you guys will make the right adjustments
to keep this from happening again.

I googled the snow gauge from Houghton for more trolls to say wtf! again.

Heat tape!!

I've had issues with pipes freezing (exposed wall in attic) and bursting more than once. The best solution I found is to wrap the pipes (cpvc or copper) with a product called heat tape. You just plug it in, wrap it around your pipes, tape it on, and it keeps the pipes warmed up enough not to freeze. I haven't had an issue since I bought the stuff, and this was at least 3+ years ago.

Damn dood....that sucks!!! Treat your ballast like a waterlogged phone.....put it in a bowl of rice without getting the rice inside the vent holes and make sure its dry before trying it. Then again if the ballast got water in it while running its probably fried....but if the power went out before it got wet there might be hope still. Im in the u.p. ....i grow in my basement. The only thing i have is a little frost condensation on the walls in my grown room when the lights are on from having the 75 degree temps one side of my brick walls and -15 on the other! LoL

well as i thought the pics dont do it justice, but that black/brown mark in the basement was the high water mark down there. Theres some pics of my ceiling cracking and falling in, 30 hours after i got the water off its still raining pretty good, i got one outlet to work so i got a space heater going. got a good amount of ice on the windows, the blinds were frozen to the windows. all that stuff on the floor was on a shelf about twelve inches off the ground and is now scattered all over. i got the bulk of my equipment out. and some pics of some tlo plushberry from a few weeks ago. We put in that brand new carpet 9 mos ago. its all soaked, everything in the living room, couches, chairs, is all soaked. the tile floor has about an inch of water on it yet as does the wood floor. anywhere you touch the wall falls down. pretty sweet haha. and that little seedling was a lemon skunk, RIP little lady.

What are you doing with the house?

I would imagine you're going to need some mold remediation and some tear out if you're going to continue to use the house in any capacity. Home owners insurance would cover it ..... but you'd be well advised to get any signs of a grow-op out of there if you're making a claim.

Oh yea she's getting a major cleanup before insurance folk come by, not even sure if that's worth it causemi will never use it again. The place reeks already. It's getting shit canned, to many bad vibes going on. I think my plan is to stick with a smallish (10x8) 24 pot ebb and grow at my patients, his room mate is also a patient but they don't have a green thumb. And I'm buying some land and going outside, greenhouse, the works.

Damn, that house didn't look to bad for 9 grand. Nice amount of space and before the flood I bet it was an ok spot to rest your head.

Abe. It was most definitely an adrenaline rush, and I hated it. That's how it is in the majority of states, and thank god I'm in Jackson right now. I don't know for sure if they were checking me out or it was something else. I have a sneaking suspicion that they slipped a smart meter in on me, because I was really careful not to let anyone know that I was growing. It doesn't matter now anyway. I have no bud or plants right now, but I'm free and getting my card in the next few days.

Yea it was actually 13500 but still. We repainted it, put a new roof on, updated the electric, and put new carpet in. All 9 mos ago or less. We had it set up as a legit chill spot. Turn tables, wifi, bar. Thank god my buddy took his tables and records out a few months back. Not a bad spot to be trimming for a few days. Not to mention the neighbors were as cool as can be. They are sad to see me leave haha.

An update, girls are looking ok especially after going throguh that. Def stunted, I was in wk 6 when this happened and the buds have basically stopped swelling all together and I'm getting a lot of orange hairs, but way to early for these strains so something is up. I'm starting to see the beginnings of a few nanners so it will be an early pull. Shows how resiliant this plant is. Getting straight up nasty rained on, frozenish and dark for up to 20 hours and still smelling and looking tasty. Been trying to snap a few pics of the survivors but my cam has a habit of being dead all the time.
