I can see them now. very nice. so there is a lot of variation and phenos in ak47 seed? any hints on which ones are the better ones?

The one I kept is much denser and more rounded on the tops. All the others were more conical shaped and airy. There was one that was extremely lanky and airy. They all smelled nice, but the one I kept was the best and the shortest. I tend to keep short plants.

We are running 2 Philip 330 all starts. We're on the first run with them. Switched from 1000w hps in. mid flower. Because of heat mainly... Im thinking of grabbing some for my own garden. I wanted to get a51. I waited too long. The money went to other places. I only enough loot now for cmh or Apollo led..
 
I love my all-starts/no question......what do you think of them so far hyroot? don't you feel like your outside under them? I do.....just need some sand and cold beer.
 
Yep. I always wear sunglasses when in there. Its too soon to say anything about growth. We were chillin in there last night taking bong tokes of master kush and drinking some sailor Jerry and coke.. I like them so far. I was expecting more heat than they put out. So that's a plus.
 
From what I've learned, mmj benefits most in flower from 630-650 nm, wheras most mfgs make 660 the dominant nm. Here's my source...

over ~580nm or so (which has a Photosynthetic RS of over 90%!)

What exactly is the source of that information? Mind providing a link please?
 
The all Starts put out very little UVB are they just used for vegging? I am trying a thousand watt LED right now and so far it hasn't come close to the performance of my 1k horti I feel like I am saving money but it isn't worth the loss in resin and essential oil production.

You guys are gonna like this........spectrum of the 860w Allstart CMH when run on a 1000w MH mag ballast.

So in other words, when a lamp is dimmed it becomes "bluer."

When I posted the SPD of the 860w before I used a 400w MH because it's all I had ATM and I thought that a spectrum didn't changed when dimmed. Now it's known that the spectrum does in fact change when dimmed. The red quantity that the lamp emits becomes lesser when dimmed.

Is this happening due to the method of dimming the ballast uses (i.e. is it PWM dimming or Amplitude dimming)?
Or is this a response of the electrons remaining in the higher excited states without being able to return to the ground state?
What chemical elements are used in that lamp?

Actually I can't speak for ALL dimmable ballast so to speak. This is just the spectral differences the 860w lamp shows when fired with a 400w MH vs a 1000w MH. I don't know if this lamp will fire with your typical high frequency e-ballast or not. I wouldn't recommend it.

Like I said before, I used the 2 different magnetic core ballasts operating at 400w and 1000w consecutively. I believe you are referring to dimming electronic drivers?

It would be interesting to see if the spectrum changes for a typical lamp when dimmed on the standard dimmable e-ballast like a Galaxy or something.

Sorry about that. I misunderstood what you were using. Looking at the specs for the light, it's not even meant for digital ballasts. :lol:
I'm an idiot.
But now that I see a picture of it, what is that coil wrapping around it? Is it for induction purposes or is it a filament?
