The UK Growers Thread!

I think next time I do a grow I won't bother flushing and I will go the full 10 weeks and feed 4 times a day at a lower EC. But this time I haven't got everything I need for my irrigation system. I need to get bigger reservoirs so I don't have to worry about making up new batches of feed twice a day. I'm only using small reservoirs at the minute and it's a pain in the ass making feed twice a day for them. Plus I'm pretty sure they've got some sort of nutrient lockout from uptaking too much nitrogen which I think is causing the slight foxtailing that's going on with them on the top buds so I think I would need to give them a flush to get rid of the lockout anyway. And because it's so close to the end I have decided just to flush them for the next 3 or 4 days and then harvest them. I'm fed up of smoking the stuff on the street as well. All the weed around here is filled with PGR's and pesticides so I need to get these plants chopped down a,s,a,p so I don't have to keep smoking the moldy PGR pesticide weed off the street. I flushed them about an hour ago and when I checked the EC it's coming out pretty high so there is defo something going on with them. I think it must be a build up of salts because I'm not feeding them 4 times per day.
Aye bro sounds like a pain mixing nutrient multiple times a day a bigger reservoir will be a big help to you, it sounds like you have things in hand tho nice one!

I'm using a 50ltr bucket for reservoir and I've another I can link the two with a length of hose but it's been ages since I've needed the two filled, do you have something in mind for a bigger reservoir?

I was thinking about getting two of these mate from B&Q with the lids on top. I think these should do the trick. I prefer the idea of hard plastic rather than that flexi tank material as it's probably more likely to leak. https://www.diy.com/departments/1x-...th-strong-metal-clip-lid/5056330385046_BQ.prd

I've got one similar to that it's a good sturdy bin, my ones full of coco/water and pond sludge cleaner to hopefully eat away the remaining roots.

Hopefully the root bits are gone when the time comes in few weeks?

I have a question about flushing that popped into my head ..... if flushing is a big part of the process and your growing in living soil or an organic mix how can you flush it if the medium is always full of minerals and life ? I don't know much about these I've never grown in them I just thought the mix was constantly full of stuff breaking down over time hence why you can re use it over and over ? Does flushing work on it ?

Your speeding up the fade rather than actually flushing all the nutes out in the soil so when the soil temps drop below a certain point certain nutrients are locked out so not available for the plant to use so your still cutting it off to a point just not in the classical way people think sure clearing the plants vascular system etc must happen too when you flush too to a point as well but that's the biggest effect it has regardless with living soil I don't think so many people flush some might though it's personal preference I guess

Living soil you don’t flush - @Star Dog posted a YouTube vid a while back that pretty much put the myth of flushing to bed think it was called strategies to optimise yields if memory serves me correct, that was more geared towards synthetic nutes , living soil is all about the micro herd and soil biology you are actually feeding to soil not the plant - then the soil builds a relationship with the plant so flushing especially in living organics is the worst thing you could do

I grow using salt based .... it just come into my head when thinking about flushing ... then I started thinking about people banging on about flushing properly give you the white ash but in organic you reuse so nutes are still available all the way through .... I just cut the nutes at around day 42 - 47 ish depends on how long the plant goes

is this looking nearly ready? I'm coming up to week 9 (day 63) on Friday and I plan to cut her on day 65. I wanted to take a few cuttings from her and re-veg the clones and do some breeding with her and keep a mother plant but I don't have the space at the minute. My humidity is in the 40's and I see no signs of mold. The bud structure is rock hard, dense little golf balls covered in trichomes with purple hues that run all the way through the buds. It's got a gassy, skunky kinda smell to it with a earthy durban poison back end smell to it.

Supreme seed bank have got Cap junky S1 seeds for sale, limited stock, they ship to the UK as well. 10 feminized seeds for only $200 a pack which works out to about £150 a pack? I've seen other seed banks and re-sellers selling these packs for $500+. They are gonna sell fast. They are worth growing if you are looking to grow top quality cali weed https://supremeseedbank.com/product/seed-junky-cap-junky-s1/ It's a collab between Capulator who made MAC-1 and Seed junky genetics. These beans are not to be missed.
