I would defintely recommend changing the tap water. I have a filtered well at my house, so we can drink any water out of any spout. That water seems to work very well with my plants.

I was thinking that when i first read it but i wasnt gonna speak on it...

I made a few changes to my stealth Rubbermaid boxes..as you can see I suspended 3 23w (1600 Lumens each) Fluoros from the top of the box using hooks, and there's another 23watter in the box still on a lamp
(which i havent gotten around to dismantling for the socket yet)
That makes a total of 4 23w CFL's and I got another one in my room somewhere..its only like a 13watter but it puts out about 860 Lumens that would bring the total to more than 7200Lumens in that little 2'x2.5' box...and I read you only need 2.5kLumens per sq ft during vegetative growth.
I cut out the back of the Rubbermaid box and screwed in a 4" fan there for intake ventilation, soon I will add some cpu fans to the lid for an exhaust.
Im so happy I finally put my Carpentry and Electrician degrees to use!!!

Sorry for the crappy photos, but all i have is my camcorder to take pics with and when I upload them to my Cpu with Windows Movie Maker it degrades the quality...but Im downloading Ulead videostudio right now and as soon as it finishes I will replace these with the better quality photos..

Pic1 pic of Pumpkin aka Widget..she the smallest of the bunch, last to crack open, last to pop up from the soil...from what I hear, usually the ones that grow first and faster are males, the slower ones are females..I dunno why, maybe its bcuz of all the attention ppl give the fast growers, and they leave the smaller ones alone...I dunno, I try not to treat any of them more special than the others.

I don't think that drinking water in the shower is weird. . . . . . . . . . . The water gets in your mouth anyways and its the same water that comes out the sink.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ............ . . . . ..

good to see you're getting somewhere. just to make sure, you are letting the water sit for 24hrs before you water, right? i agree with scepter, start a thread under toke n talk about the water drinking.

when you were doing the papertowel germin did you place the papertowels in a bowel or anything that could hold the water. if so thats why they stayed to wet put them on soil(the whole papertowel) or carpet and mist them with a sprayer so you dont do to much,and the water can slowly vaporate the poxygen getting to the plant is what makes it crck.

hey that miracle grow moisture control might not be the best route
have you used it before?
past experience... it didnt work for me at all killed all my sprouts

All i ever do is to soak the seeds overnight in ph'ed tap water,then late the next day wrap them in a very moist paper towel,then put the paper towel in a small tupperware tub & close it up & put the tupperware tub where i know its about 80 degrees,come back 24 hours later & see tails all over the place.
A huge sucess rate using this method.

wow i just get a paper towel wet, ring it out, put seeds inside, and put under a tupperware dome, never has taken long then 3 days to germinate

Hey heres easy way get coffe filter and wet it and ring it ou so its damp fold it then put sed then fold again and then put in dvd case let aet for 2 days and ur good ive been doing it in my room and ita been 78 or lil lower and ive done 20 seeds and all sprouted 2 days or less
