Its been a rough few years but I was baptized by a fire from above and life changed fast.
In July High Times Magazine has published a feature article about me and The Dank including Cover and Center Fold by one of my amazing testers Team Terpene.

You can read the Full article on New Stands now but I use Rollitup as a data base I lost all my photos and Articles but there all still here :)

This is the rough draft I sent Danny.



The Dank

Danny this is the story of how I survived a fatal diagnosis, the destruction of my home, a divorce from my best friend, and upevil in the Cannabis Industry.


I would really appreciate it if i can tell you the story and you recant it.


I have included as much info as possible and can answer any questions :)

In 2013 I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 a genetics progressive lung disease. This diagnosis changed the course of my life. I move from Oregon to California for better weather and because I had always dreamed of living in Sonoma County where any adult could cultivate 30 plants per household that’s exactly what we did. I moved there with my family and grew killer cannabis and decided to use my previous experience breeding for myself as Subcool seeds to breed many new strains for company filled with fellow close growers/breeders and family now known worldwide as TGA Genetics (The Green Avengers). My illness and the weekly treatments brought a lot of stress to my life and as time continued to pass I lost my kind nature. The straw that finally broke the camel's back was a day I will never forget Oct 8th 2017. My now ex-wife were preparing to separate when our home in Santa Rosa burned to the ground.


Everything we owned including close to 4 million seeds was lost in the Cobb Fire that destroyed 8500 homes and killed over 60 people.

Fortunately, unlike many other farmers that lost it all in the Cobb fire, I had two hundred thousand dollars in my account stashed away for a rainy day and after splitting it with my ex partner, I used my portion to buy sixty thousand dollars of Subcool Seeds from Norstar Genetics, friends who hold many of my mother plants and collaborate on about half of the strains I created over the last 15 years. They continue to this very day collaborating on many new strains and keeping the legendary strains safe and secure. One year later we have an arsenal of 44 Dank strains stocked up and distributed worldwide.

Seeds in hand and without any packing, website, server, hard drives, even some of my passwords to our lucrative social media accounts and email accounts or simply ANY tools at all to run the business, Will and I decided to tred on. We made packing on the fly while flying down the highway smoking hash, brought distributors up to speed while not even having a place to live, and began the trip to source back lost parent stock from close friends who held my cuts. I believe any reader who reads this article can articulate that saving my company was the HIGHEST priority even beyond my own comfort of having a home.

After the fire I kept driving until I was out of the smoke and since I needed to reacquire Strawberry Cough for our strain “Strawberry Daiquiri” (Strawberry Cough x Space Queen)I ended up in Hollywood with Kyle Kushman where I struck a deal to grow his genetics out and continue to work with his famous Strawberry Cough and new cut he recently started working with “Stardawg”. The collaboration has been dubbed “The Dank Brothers”.


To bring the story up-to-date we now have many collaborative strains in the “testers network” and have just released a new strain called “Strelka” which is a delicious cross of my cherry infused, resin coated “Space Queen” dad with Kyle’s fruity / diesel “Stardawg” female, fully endorsed by two old school growers and friends. The results have been amazing and we look forward to this cross becoming highly sought after in the new cannabis world.

I traveled without a home all over California, then Vegas, and finally settled in Arizona thanks to William Rouland a rep I had befriended. He actually came and got me from a hotel in Cali somewhat in shock. We spent nearly two months together before I settled in Arizona close by him and his family and rented a home with and indoor pool, drained it and started growing Cannabis under Arizona’s Medical Program. With my new home converted to a carded state approved 60 plant grow op, my mission to continue working with my beloved cannabis plant continues.

Growing in the pool is awesome and I grow massive plants and test my new creations. I Do Not breed in the pool, that is done elsewhere, but it is my joy and passion now and it’s a blast to photograph the pool which houses my personal pheno hunts of my newest creations.

Because I lost all my plants and seeds I had to start collecting my mother plants again took in lots of new cuttings and one of these came with a present. HRM or Hemp Russet mites and they almost caused me to move and stop growing all together but instead of giving up I tried literally everything including, heating plants to 122 degrees, raising Co2 in room to 10000ppm, WPF97, Venerate, Flying Skull, Dr. Zymes and Wettable Sulfur. In the end it took a combination of all of these and killing 40 full size plants in flowering and most importantly learned the use of Predator bugs and organic IPM methods and now my garden is healthy happy and producing amazing quality cannabis.

“The Rebuild”


I worked day and night rebuilding the TGA website and on my own the new website Subcool.com known simply as “The Dank” named after my two books. I redesigned all of the packing which Will and I made many mistakes on in the heat of the fire, designed a new logo, recreated the menu and started promoting “The Dank” Online. IMO TGA was destroyed the night of the fire but something inside me had to rebuild the website for historical purposes. Will started to look for ways to turn my notoriety into some kind of income and started looking for investors to possible find a location to grow “The Dank” on a large scale.

My Home was actually insured and i got a settlement to replace my personal property. I invested a huge amount on legal fees to secure contracts and create a trust that will fund “The Dank” and my charities for 500 years after I pass away I would like the things I teach and Subcool.com a website dedicated to teaching people to grow for free to be around a long time. Call it a legacy. I even uploaded the 800 Youtube shows “ The Weed Nerd” to my own server because Youtube randomly deletes my shows due to copyright strikes from the music I play.


Meanwhile, I made a mess on Social media fighting with my Ex Partner and it got messy. I regret my part in the whole mess. Many accusations and falsehoods were flung on both sides and once the trolls got involved the drama just immediately took on a life of its own. It even almost made it to TMZ but I have some good friends in the legal and media field that wouldn’t let it go viral.


Once the smoke had settled, Will and I formed Mobius Marketing SW for further consumable product licencing efforts and I founded Subcool Seeds Corp. Subcool Seeds Corp houses all of my IP including “Subcool”, “The Weednerd”, “Art of Cannabis”, and “Science of The Dank”. It also is where the new company “The Dank’ resides.


What is “Dank”?


The Dank is simply what is sounds like but not many people actually know what Dank is. Dank to us is cannabis grown to perfection. Encompassing all aspects of cannabis passion, expertise, technique, environment and love.


The Bowling Alley Grow


Wll, Myself, and a new partner we found who just happened to be just as passionate about cannabis as we are Eli signed a contract together to produce UNLIMITED cannabis and then Eli secured a few million in funding from an outside source and we positioned the city to rezone the building for Cannabis Cultivation. The whole town turned out for the meeting and while a few locals worried about smell and water contamination we assured that we had smell control and a closed loop drain system that actually drains into storage tanks not on to the ground.

As our hard work began to pay off and our large scale cultivation begame to come together, we wanted our consumable product offering to have a purpose. The problem we always seen in this new regulated market was that in which a strain is described by Leafly or Weedmaps in our minds gives the consumer false promises and hope because there dispensary do not have to verify their strain based products. This leads to consumers not having the experience they intended or one that can be replicated. When you buy Jesus OG is it really Jesus OG?


So with this in mind and also knowing our strains tend to lean more on the sativa, and fruity terpene side of the spectrum we decided to bring some friends along so they too could endorse their strains and overall guarantee their fans and consumers strain based products which can be trusted from seed or clone to sale and consumption.


So far we are working with GG4 Official, and Kyle Kushman. We have intentions of bringing in more friends like NorStar Genetics, and Badger’s Dank. There are few more BIG names in the works but our readers will just have to wait and see… To make a long story short our mission is to grow Dank, work with friends, guarantee strain experiences, and build a consumer base that is brand. Today’s Struggles


I am technically disabled and my lungs only have 70% capacity and growing is hard ass work so I have to depend on others to lift and carry things. I tried working with experienced people but they tend not to listen so I am training a young man to help me but I direct every action he is simply my hands and back but he is learning fast. When I am really sick I am hooked to an Oxygen concentrator and I can barely walk, Crawling to water your plants feeling like you’re drowning when my lungs collapse taught me nothing in life will ever be easy for me but I have overcome so much and I think I am currently growing the best cannabis of my life.


I still grow in my recipe of Supersoil and use only Water and Grean Bicycles tea. You will remember the Owner Jack Grean who Grew out Vortex entered it in the first US Cup and won first place with Gods Pussy. The controversial name helped put me on the map nationally and me and Jack are great friends now. The war with russets put me back in touch with my garden and I spend more time under my canopy than I ever have. I feel my flowers are the best I have ever produced.

Thanks to great people like Danny Grimm who returned irreplaceable cuts like “Bloodwreck”, “Space Queen” and Badger’s Dank the only cutting I lost that I can’t replace is Pinot Noir that is used to make Cuvee, more on that later. Slowly we rebuilt my core strains using original mother plants and father plants. Strains like Jack the Ripper, Vortex and Querkle were reproduced and distributed at the same time we started making new strains and placed them into our large testing program. The new stuff started showing up online in gardens and data started to pour in. I took the menu from 20 strains all the way to the 44 listed below. We now feature many classic strains made famous with TGA as well as 26 New exciting hybrids that were not only tested but grown out by me in the pool.

What and Who is Badger’s Dank?


Badger is a good friend of mine who has been along for many rides of my life. He was first a tester for me, then soon became a close friend and helper taking on the life of my garden hand for roughly 5 years learning all the ways of Dank from growing,and setting up grow rooms, to breeding, and harvesting. After my home burned down he was an special person in that he held moms, and helped recreate old stock and now has a subsidiary company with me know as Badger’s Dank.


To Sum Things Up...


On February 20th 2019 my ex partner and I after a year of what became the first ever publicly talked about Celebrity Cannabis Divorce, we finally met in mediation to officially separate. In an attempt to salvage some sort of peace I surrendered TGA Genetics IP and officially became Subcool’s The Dank the name of my published book. A Copy resides in the Jefferson Memorial Library of Congress and one of my proudest accomplishments, what better a name.


I retain the rights to all of the strains on my curent menu and I gave up the rights to the following strains.

With help from my team we are in the process of changing about 20 strains and adding roughly 24 more on Leafly from “TGA” to “The Dank”. I am working hard to remove the old logo from as many distributors as possible. I promoted TGA for 18 years, I did a good fucking job but as I mentioned I feel the magic that that help it all together fell apart the night of the fire. I do not know the fate of TGA but my work, my strains and my passion continues on in the 44 strains that make up the menu of “The Dank”.


The bowling alley in Globe is almost complete and in just a few weeks we start moving in plants. We will grow in Super Soil using my methods and grow as close to organically as possible. Everything will be tested even though in is not required in AZ. The Dank will set new standards for packaging, testing and distribution. The state of the art kitchen has glass walls so all aspects can be filmed and supervised for quality control.

I get to start hundreds of seeds and do pheno hunts of my favorite strains, Once we find the best we will use Phylos Bioscience to map and protect our our versions of each strain. Each strain will have quality standards for Terpene and cannabinoid production. I am excited but I also understand the long road we have in front of us. Growing cannabis has so many variables and so many things can go wrong we stand at the brink of success or failure and all of us won’t look back until we handle all adversity and make something truly. Dank!

Thanks so Much its funnt how long I have been here I have literally been clean and sober for almost 3 years now that was when I was posting here last making an ass of my self all drunk and depressed I bounced back :)

I'm not saying that I know exactly what you are going through, but I started having breathing problems a couple of years ago. It sucks feeling like you are getting choked out!!! Anyways, I hope the best for you.

Also, my wife is very excited about your catalogue. I'm excited that I can buy seeds straight from the source! The problem is choosing which one first.

hey sub~~ great to see you around the forums here. You've been a huge inspiration to me since I was in highschool, I've loved all your genetics and the all the info you've put out there is great man. Thanks for sharing this story that is inspiring for me to keep pushing into the cannabis trade and get out of HVAC. One day, cannabis will be my full time job and I will maybe see you out there and thank you personally haha cant wait to test the new strains
