are you currently in coco? i love your space cabinet! do you use any type of UV spectra? or just a led for visible light? you said maybe you should go back too soil with what youve learned? i vote no! i love coco coir. i absolutely love it! if you are using coco i vote stick with it! me and my bro have tried rockwool coco soil and honestly at the end of the day i love coco DTW the most!
I have a fecida 65w with blue/yellow and some red but that is it for that light which is dimmed to almost off so that colas can grow as shown, past the light. The ufo just provides stronger penetrating ppfd down the colas but very dim so it doesnt foxtail/fist or etc.
The strip lights are 3000k, just your typical amazon led strips meant to light up stairs or edges of a bedroom, etc. Very weak at full brightness but that is what makes this a space grow. Light strip is about 45 watts and light dimmed shouldnt be much more along with mini fans so about 60w grow. Like having a mini fridge.
Not that effecient so the goal is to make it easy to grow and not cost much. I started in coco but it was too big a pot so the plant was too big for this 1’x1’ so I ditched the plant and now succeeded in soil which worked to keep plant small but my next run is dtw coco in a one gallon.
Want to down size pot if plant grows to vigorous but if it does I plant to use lst clips to make same canopy but zigzag it. I love dtw coco too I just liked the idea of soil being slightly less work if you dont feel like buffering and preparing solution and setting up a decent dtw grow.
Now that I am mostly setup for coco it is hard to go back but would like to do soil again with what I think I learned, something I do not mind doing when I am not doing coco. Kind of realizing soil isnt that much less work but it did make the cabinet easier to grow in.
Dtw coco requires additional building but I have it set to feed off my main dtw grow so it will be a breeze to do.
