The shell has fallen off but the leaves are stuck together.

I have a white rhino seedling from seed. She popped above soil yesterday. The shell has already fallen off but the leaves are stuck together and wont open. So will they open on there own or is there anything I should do to open them?

Play the waiting game like everyone else.

After a few days like this, if nothing has changed, then there is no harm in gently trying to separate them with a toothpick or knife etc. But the majority of the time, if the seed husk has fallen off, then the plant will do its thing.

I need to see a picture of it if you dont mi.d because ive learned a few things about shell release and skin still attached that it could be good or BAD. I just went tbrough a thing with my new babygirl. And the shell was off but the skin was still attached. It was caused by impatience and messing with the seed. Also not pressing the soil around it so that the soil could grip the shell as the baby pull out of it and surface. You know what im saying? Also one of the leaves were defected but i just let it grow. What it taught me was to make sure that the seed has grip on it to hold as the sprout surfaces. Also it has certain time to open and if it doesnt open properly it may become a no go.

It happens quite common, they will spread out soon, don't worry abt it. the sprout knows what to do.
