I have both consoles, ps3 is just way better. If you get a good game like warhawk can play it for hours.

its just what one's used to, i have them both and i don't mind the box controller but i would love it if i could just use my ps3 controller on my box.

maybe you dont chat with anyone because you have no actual friends on xbox live...numerous times have i been playing a game and someone wanted to talk...and imagine this, it only took the clicking of 2 buttons and 5 seconds to connect to a chat....with netflix you can have you friends join you for a movie, if you had family in another country and you wanted to see a movie with them its a little hard aint it...not with xbox...hahaha ps3 stole xbox's idea of achievments and called them awards, what dousch bags...you play big hitters,good for you but i love a one dollar game such as my favorite i made a game with zombies.... ps3 sux

I like the ps3 controller because it's more simple. But I wish it was built differently to accomodate the hands like the xbox360's design is. I really think whoever designed it should get an award and a raise. He/she did quite a good job. I still think the PS3 is superior despite getting shafted in the aesthetics dept.

I have a few friends online but I have never had a chat with them outside of a game. If we wanted to chat we could, but I would just call them. I can do a voice/video chat on the PS3 with two clicks too. Chatting while watching a movie is ghey and annoying. If they were sitting next to me I would be telling them to shut the fuck up - now I get to listen to them breathe in my ear? That feature sucks. I would rather them watch the movie and then talk about it aferwards (just like in real life).
I think the real douchbags are the ones playing hours of video games who think they are actually achieving anything.
The PS3 store has value games too.
I have had MULTIPLE XBOX items fail; they are the ones that suck. Have fun playing your easily scratched DVD based games and pray you do not get the RROD. I'll watch my Blu-Rays, play anti scratch Blu-Ray games, free online gaming, and enjoy every moment of it knowing that my machine is not going to shit the bed or have to pay a $30 maintenance fee every year.
You forget that I have owned both machines. I know one sucks. I would have literally taken a shit on my 360 if my cousin didn't beg me for it.

im my opinion the ps3 is better. i am a bit of a technophope and i only have time for one game. call of duty 5. ( i keep buying other games but dont have time to play them, damn kids! lol.) i have played the x-box but it just doesn't do it for me. my only problem with the ps3 is the lag online.

Go to seettings < Network Settings < Internet Connection Test - run the test. What is your NAT Type? If you don't have Type 1 or Type 2 something is wrong and can explain the lag.
Have you set up the media server? Don't fuck with TVersity or other media servers, I use windows media and I can stream any file I want. It is the feature I use most and is my favorite feature. You can stream photos from your PC (great when grandma comes over to show pics of the kiddies), your whole music collection from your PC (perfect if you have a nice surround sound setup), movies (you can stream standard def as well as hi-def content) and if you buy the Playon Media server you can stream Netflix, Hulu, CBS, ESPN, CNN to your PS3...

my theory on the 360's "red ring o death" is this:..hooking the machine up to the internet is what causes it to do that. it may even be that its some kind of scheme by microsoft to sell more product. all i know is that the fail rate for the 360 is something like 50%, but the one we've had has never had any probs, and i think its bc we havent hooked it up to the internet. i'd like to see some stats on that. on the fail rate of the 360's that have/havent ben hooked up to to the internet. don't know much bout the ps3, but plan on prolly gettin1 since the price went down and it has the blue ray and all.

its the solder connections overheating. poor craftsmenship. soldering isnt hard, n i dont kno where they have the consoles made, but fuck, how hard is it to have a clean, strong solder connection that wont fail?
i have my first 360, never failed or fucked up... n im hoping it wont. ever.
n yea, ill be buyin myself a ps3 for christmas since its cheaper.

And actually I have both ps3 and xbox 360 I'm impartial to be honest, I think that the 360 is better for just pure gaming but the ps3 to me is just a more overall useful piece of hardware. Last night I had a girl come over and I have all the True Blood seasons on my computer and I was able to stream them straight to my ps3 instead of burning them on DVD... I know the 360 can do this as well but I don't like the way it's set up and I am not a big fan of Windows Media Center, would much rather use media player.

I've had my Xbox for about six months and haven't had any problems so far. It stays on pretty much constantly, doesn't get hot at all though it does make a lot of noise when there's a disc in the tray (but so does my dvd player). It gets used for watching Netflix more than it gets used for playing games. Netflix+digital converter box = no cable bill, hooray!

nobody should be mad about for having to pay more for a machine they have been enjoying for 3 years before the first price drop
not only should u be happy but the original ps3 launched with Sony memory stick, and every form of stored media device is located directly on the machine
