cannabis was made illegal on a federal level, and slowly states are disagreeing.
if enough states eventually adopt MMJ laws, the federal law will be soon to follow (but not necessarily).

Why was it made illegal in the first place? The Founding Fathers passed a law stating you HAD to grow it during wartime...so where in the Constitution does it give the Federal Govt authority over this? The 10th specifically states that individual states have the right to draft laws on anything not granted to the Federal Govt by the Constitution.

a loose interpretation of interstate commerce has played into it.
the gonzalez vs. raich decision came a long time after the initial decision to prohibit, but that is how they keep it going. feel free to google it and read about it.

1913 was the beginning of the end for a free and just United States of America.
i.e. The state may make any law it wishes, but the federals can make any law they wish. Federal laws trump state laws.

pretty much. if even one of these cases is won, the jig is up for the feds. so they stretch the constitution to say that growing 6 plants in your closet for personal consumption violates the interstate commerce clause...
this is wy i want obama in there for another 4 years above any other reason. even though brack sucks at picking people like geithner and daly, he will pick the right SCOTUS people to ensure that the issues i care about are taken care of.
