I live on the eastern side of the states, I read on some forum that the ocean forest that they sell over here is made in south carolina and tends to have really low ph and all in all not the same product sold out west. I havent bought a bag recently but has anyone else heard anything about this?

dude, you are dead on. But what I heard was there was a mississippi border for shipping that seperated two differently made soil batches. Obviously there will not likely be a statement about it on the FF site...
The bad one had some sort of element added that had a smell to it that wasnt pleasant, and perhaps the ph was off idk for sure.

All that came from my main info source at my local grow supply store. So its not fact, but he has absolutely no reason to lie to me....
anyway here in MN we get the good side shipped I guess, or FF fized the problem in general. Ill ask the next time im at the store which wont be for a while

So I have been using FFOF for my past 3 grows along with the trio, mainly Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom, last grow had problems, would like to blame it on the Fox Farm gang but probably my fault. I do however want to try a soil mix this time. What are some of you mixes?
I have been thing about:
FFOF, LIght warrior, Perlite
and
FFOF, canna coco and perlite
Any experiences with these mixes?
Also, how do you guys feel about the solubles?

Wow, great thread. Just read through all 37 pages. I use ffof w/complete line up and get great results. However, one thing I have noticed on my past 2 grows around week 4, my leaves start getting color drained to yellow and some brown spots. leaf will start getting crispy until I can't handle it anymore and take it off...otherwise it will just die on it own. anybody else had this issue?

I have been doing it for a couple years now and keep getting better and more knowledgable but would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

just an FYI for all y'all, normally I'm not such an information dick, but I thought some of you may find this interesting.

I live where this is produced. I have seen the sites, and conversed with the owner of the company about how his product is made.

If you want to pay for sawdust in your soil, then continue to buy Fox Farm. It is by NO means organic. Nothing that is bagged, or bottled is organic. Growing "organically" means establishing microbe-life in your soil, via compost and earthworm casting tea ("Teaming With Microbes" is an excellent read for those wishing to actually grow "organic"). the woodchips they use are chipped from wood treated with chemicals, and everyone around here recognized their lies many years ago.

If you don't believe me, just google it.

Have a nice day friends! =)

Well that would be upsetting if it where true. I am a user of FFOF. When in doubt, Google it .
