if ur using a 5gal, U could use a 10 inch net pot. i bought a homepot 5 gal bucket 3.50 and got a 10 inch net pot for 5.95, tax about 10 total, and i also got a round air stone, that fits just around the bottom, with awsome bubles.

Currently I am using the bucket lids that came with the 5GA buckets I bought from a local hydro store. The ladies were already well on their way the black 5GA bucket lids fit nice over the sport team jugs and have not had any issues with light leaking in etc.

So i didn't have to ask a dumb question; I'm not the only one experiencing pH drift in my res? But unfortunately Im surely not using anything from lowes nor an igloo. I just changed my res today adjusted the pH added nutes. That was about 3 hours ago. PPM should be 330 in 1 res pH 5.6 and the other 300 PPM pH 5.7. I'm gonna go check them now.

Could be a very stupid question, look out!

Would these coolers work in the opposite manner during winter and retain the heat of the water overnight (to an extent of course) when everything get's rather chilly, thinking killing 2 birds with one stone, instead of having one method of cooling during summer and one for heating during winter.

Common sense would dictate that since it is actually a huge thermo, it should work both ways.

Hmm. So dudes. Maybe I need to start the thread from the beginning but for now here I go.

The 3-4 hour mark my PH was back up to 6.1 in both res. So my theory is that there is a stabilization time between when you adjust and when you should take the readings. I've readjusted My pH about an hour ago. The girls are in lights out now so I can't take the readings for another 11 hours. But I i will at first light.

Hey guys! This is hopefully going to be my first successful grow. I'm at 25 days from seed right now. Using CFLs for the entire grow. There's a link in my sig to some more pics/details also.

Strain is Nirvana Northern Lights and so far has been a trooper (PH meter busted and guesstimated everything for about a week)

Shit looks good to me .. Get that PH meter so you dont lose your pretty ladies! The coolers are the best idea especially with the CFL's you wont have any res temp problems !

Hey guys, water pump in combination with slightly heated air from the air pump I do believe is bringing my temps up, nothing drastic, still just a touch under 70 f , so I think I see a cycle timer purchase in my future, have been running the sprayers 24/7 I'll cut that back to like 1 on 4 off when I get a cycle timer. Its either that or I'm gonna kill the sprayers altogether and just pump massive amounts of air through massive amounts of stones.I do like the spraying action all through the grow cycle though so I'm gonna do my best to fix this problem.also I used a minimum amount of water to conserve on nutrients so any heat at all will affect it more than say if I top it off almost up to the sprayers and aim the sprayers directly at the netpot. Then again its been warm here lately and maybe as soon as the frigid weather sets in my temps will be fine.

Shit is still tight DB !
Fill with as much water as you can because they WILL drink a bit during bloom AND it's helps prevent too many fluctuations.
Also, a half gallon frozen water bottle every 2 days should help too.
I put 2 - 8 ounce fishing weights in each of my bottles to keep them anchored down at the bottom of the coolers.

I was also thinking an external water pump but that just increases my cost and labor and I fully intend to use the frozen bottle technique if all else fails, and thanks again for the compliment buddy.

I'm gonna do a couple veg units out of a much cheaper cooler (22 bux at kmart) and use the stinkbuddy(aero with neoprene inserts) method but I'll sub the cooler for the tote he uses. Then its off to figure out wtf to do about a cloner, whatever it is it will probably involve igloo.

I picked up a nice square 5gal Igloo for clones too.
Looks like it'll fit a dozen 2 inchers easily.
