The mysterious life of my mystery nug

So I was hoping to get some opinions on a couple of my plants... They have been alive about 3 months now. I'll get into more details as we go. They're an unknown strain, that's why I call them Mystery Nugs. I got them along with the the other seeds I'm growing from a fellow grower. They've all lived under the same conditions from the begining, from soil to feeding and watering schedule.

Here we go...

I started these seeds...

4 PJ (purple jesus)
1 WW (white widow)
3 MN (mystery nug)

Went in the dirt, FFOF. The MN should have gone in a day sooner, and would have if I got off work earlier and made it to the store in time. As you will see in the pic they were a little big...

The MN popped out of the dirt sooner than the others.

All 4 pooped, the MN just took off (they are on the right)...



At this point I took a little break from updating my journal so I don't have any pics until 10-3. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at first. They were growing good. Faster than the others. I transplanted them into 3 gal pots that day. The fiber pots were starting to mold, so they had to go.

Pics, one of the MN you can see the leaves look a little off. I thought I had over fed them. The others didn't show any ill effects. Also the pots and my veg area...

hmmm, my gut yells spider mites or powdery mildew, but that's just because those have been my battles. are you letting them dry out enough?

i think they'll recover 100% with some good ol' plain water and some time.

Thanks for taking the time to look PG!!

No evidence of spider mites at any point. Mildew on the other hand is/was a possibility. Let me continue the story.

Gave them a flush. I was advised it might help, just in case it was a soil problem with a nute buildup or lockout.



A little comparison.. The PJ looks healthy.. The WW was having problems of it's own at this point, related to the transplant...

The flush has seemed to have no effect. It was at this point someone said maybe root rot. So I let them dry out. After the flush they went almost 2 full weeks with out water...



At no point have they quit growing. Even in this condition they were my tallest plants..

Group shot. 2 beauties and 2 sick little plants. But this point I've tried everything from heavy feedings to straight water. I tried foliage feeding and just spraying with plain water...

I broke down and transplanted them into coco.



I didn't know what to expect as I checked the roots. I found nothing out of the ordinary. The soil was dry and smelled like dirt, no mildew or mold.

With any transplant you'll have side effects. They didn't take it real well at first. Loosing almost all of the lower leaves.

I still wasn't sure about there survival. I took 1 clone per plant to see if they like bubbles.

whoa, those two got big and gnarly. i missed if those two were different strains than the other plants, but either way they just look crazy. esp because the other plants all look great, I think they might be developmentally delayed. maybe they have plant AIDS, lol.

I really want to see how they flower.

hey Cph i got a question do you have a fan directly blowing on them that can SUCK all the water out of your girls b4 the roots can replace lost water i had something like this happen to my white berry then tured the fan on osilate and was good

LMAO!! plant AIDS!! I've wondered if it was genetic, or something the strain didn't like about the conditions, if it's an outdoor only strain or something. They're different than the other 2. I've got 4 original plants, now there's 22!! I love clones! I do plan to flower them soon, neither of those 2 have shown sex.

I considered that as well. Less air didn't help either... I've never had a fan directly on them just around them. The fan actuarially blows under the table and up and around. Thanks for looking!

Here they are tonight. They just got watered 2 days ago. I'm still getting used to the coco, it really holds water a long time.

They're getting normal'ish looking leaves here and there. It has been a month since they were transplanted...







I thought I would show you the happy and healthy moms I have growing. On the left is a White Widow and on the right is the Purple Jesus. I've taken 2 sets of 4 clones, and plan to take more with in the week...

Here's a pic from tonight. Getting better still. I'll probably only veg them for another week or so. I finally got my HPS fired up for flowering.

shit that looks like it'll either get crazy awesome nugs or grow like a crackhead...

It runs around 60 most of the time. Never higher but some times lower.

LOL I'm not sure what way they'll go, hopefully they'll be some tasty nugs!!!

Just a shot in the dark, but go to walmart and buy Espoma garden lime. It is like hydrated lime, but made safer to use. My plants looked like that. I mixed 2 tablespoons of the garden lime in 1 gallon of how water. mixed until it was dissolved. cool. then use. It has a lot of micrnutes and can also buffer a ph issue. Its $4 a bag and one thing it wont make it worse.

I watered with that and it took about a few days but plants started to green up. by ten waterings with that mix they turned a healthy normal green

Are you pHing your water/ nute mix and runoff on this plant. That looks like a major pH problem

No I'm not. I know I should and that may solve the problem. The problem is money! It sucks, always has and always will!! If that is the problem it seems to be correcting it self. Probably because of the coco, but I don't know for sure. I haven't changed the water or nutes, and always gave them the same mix as all the others. I appriciate you taking the time to look tom!!

When you get the money you should look around ebay for a pH meter, they are pretty cheap and you can find a nice one

yep looks like either a ph issue or maybe a high ppm malforming those leaves...... although mine almost died when they did that, but mine was a ph issue.

If the pH is on point than over feeding is nearly impossible with a well established plant
The pH is what determines what nutrients the plant can uptake
Too high or too low some nutes will get locked out
