I am planning of making a small closet grow in a 60cm long 50cm wide and 80cm high closet.I was firstly thinking of scorg as it seems easy and basically idiot-proof.
Then I stumbled across mainlining.Firstly I wonder if its a easy method or do you need some training. Now I would like to know if is viable idea running a mainlining grow in a closet? Also can u maybe advise some strains, was thinking about vortex as I want a up-high.

works excellent in a closet.....if you want a sativa, i would recommend you run a mainlined vortex scrog....can't lose....check out Oriahs grow....good luck....p.s. the olny way to learn, is to do it....it is pretty easy though.....:leaf:

Hi Nugs! great thread, i read that you sometimes run 2 x 600ws? How many plants under each 600w? Im trying this technique out when i get started! Do you think its impossible for a first time grower? i thought maybe on the second run but then again would be so sweet to have the canopy controlled on the first grow too. Thanks alot for all of this information :)

i like to either run 6 or 8.......usually eight 8 headed girls.....so 4 under each 600......mainlining is pretty simple stuff.....i think the hardest thing to get over as a newbie, is realizing how much the canna plant is capable of enduring as far as bondage, and torture is concerned......you can not be tenative.....if a plant has a nurturing environment (i.e. good medium, light, air, love).....she is amazingly resiliant....:leaf:

I broke a plant literally in half down the middle down to the roots when I was trying to move all the branches to the center of my box and she was my best producer lmao!

So Nugs I got my addition framed and rocking this weekend hopefully just got a couple questions for you. My room is long and skinny 9' long 5' wide 9.5' tall. I was planning on doing a 36" deep shelf about 18" off the ground with 2-600's. How does this sound to you and how many mainlined plants could I fit on a 36"x9' shelf following your guide to the T and vegging for 60 days having a 40" tall plant including smartie with a 28"-32" diameter. Also planning on adding a mini split into my setup to cool this new flower room my current 4x6 flower room and my veg/work room that's about 9x5. Question is should I bother air cooling the 2-600's since I'm adding the mini split or is there really no point? The 1000 in my current flower room is air cooled already. Thanks for your help brotha

that all sounds great, my set up is 38 x 72......i think 42 x 84 would be ideal.....for 8 plants....and i would definately go air cooled along with your mini split....the more options, the better, and sometimes you may want to divert the warm/dry "light" air back into the room in case of high humidity, low temps, or just get it completely out of the space so your mini-split does not have to run as hard..........just think options.....going non-cooled just takes an option away....sounds like a nice set-up, make sure you get us all a pic when its done.....just make sure you are moving lots of air throughout......that way you can pack your colas in there if desired.....:-P

I'm going to start a thread once I get everything set up shooting for 1st week of September.....slowly pieced together everything I got set up now as I was learning over the past few years so definitely want to set this room up right the first time. I should have come to RIU a long time ago would have saved me a lot of mistakes and heartache. Hardcore Nerds like yourself are no doubt the most knowledgable on this site in my opinion. I get so excited just thinking about everything done its going to be epic, at least I hope. Thanks again Nugs your the bomb

Hey Nugs, what medium do you use? Do you just handwater your main-lining plants?
I grow in a DR120 tent under a 600w so I was thinking of doing 4 in smart pots. Just not sure what size pots or medium to use...
Might just do handwatering coco in 20L smart pots...

Thanks again.
