The Kings Experimental Grow - Or The Smallest Damn Grow Ever

This started off, as a wager. "Can i grow over 1/4 of an ounce in this tiny little grow box?" I wagered £5 that i could. After doing some exploring on the internet, i didn't find much documented information on flowering from seed, or extremely small grows for that matter. (Yes, there's lowryder, but that's different). So, i became interested in how plants would cope with flowering from seed. One thing led to another, and i now have 2 seeds sitting between paper towels.

The dimensions of the box are : 12"x15"x5"

Impossible you say? Personally, i think it can be done. As for lighting, im starting her off under a single 20watt CFL. (I cant see anything else fitting inside, and i have this left over from my other grow) and im possibly going to put some mini-cfls (11 - 15watt) in as i go.

Picture time! I have drilled different positions for the light, so i can move it around as the plant(s) grows, to get the best coverage possible.

So whatdya think? Am i plain crazy?

Not at all. I would like to fit a small growing area into a canal boat I have. Grow on and let me know how it goes. I have a couple of plants I am deliberately stunting -stem pinching/bending/scrog and root cutting(for Bonsai) at the moment. it is amazing how they cope. What light will you flower with?

I'm not sure yet. Probably a powerful CFL (30watt+). I will need to order one in. I cant see myself fitting anything bigger in, plus i would need ventilation for anything bigger. I have ventilation planned out just in case, but it would take up way too much space.

There will be a lot of stunting and other bonsai stuff done here, but that's still in planning. I'm also wondering if i should use this as a chance to test piss nutes. If both of these seeds sprout, and i have two plants running, i will piss nute one, and do nothing to the other :p

Computer fans are tiny. Under feeding helps keep them small, but I am new to Bonsai, and learning as I go along. Piss Nutes? Do go on...

Yup. Computer fans is the plan. But, its a bitch for space. Piss nutes, its 1 part urine 10 parts water. Contains loatsa good stuff for the plants. That paper is interesting. I wouldnt have any problems with flowering, im pretty sure the plant will outgrow the box as it is without proper pruning and topping. I would rather, that the plants out grew the box healthly and i had to prune them back, than the plants stayed smaller, but were unhealthy.

Oh yea, a clone would be much better. Its matured too. But this is experimenting with seed growth. Maybe i will do clones after.

Mmkay. Little update on this grow. Ive brought some sexy white widow seeds. I'm germinating one for this. The rest will probably go in my garden for this years outdoor grow. So, in a few days, these babies should sprout, and i will be getting started :D

I can't wait for spring, this indoor stuff is all very well, but the crops don't compare unless you are burning 1000watts+ (well, it seems that way)
This year, if it is warm enough I shall try putting two clones (in early flower) out in the spring 12/12 period. I have heard they will flower in that time-two outdoor crops a year possibly. Good luck with the sprouting, may they all be girls.

I'm not totally sure :D. This weekend I'm getting a thermometer i can slip inside. It used to get pretty hot, but ive put a fan blowing on the light and a few vents, it seems to be fine now.

One seed has sprouted, shes outta the soil, when her sexy leaves appear ill get some pictures of the updated set up.

Small question i need answered. I'm starting them (two now) off on 12/12, can i top, like under the second node? Is that a good idea?

People say different things-I like to se 2-3 sets of good strong leaves personally, so I would not top yet, but I grow outdoors, or in quite a tall tent - some people on this site have huge experience of micro grows and will have advice based on personal experience.
Looking forward to the photos.

The current plan, is to FIM her asap. Give her a week to adjust and start new growth, then spank in flowering.

Here are my ghetto grow pictures. The empty pot is for a seed that's germinating.

Edit : Strain is White Widow

That's an interesting wager you have going on. I'm new to forums and growing, but I have put in over 40 hours of research, most of which was done on this site.
Are you able to change grow box's for this wager? if so, i have made a design out of an old PC tower case that works very well for me, and was easy to do. Roughly the same size as your box it looks like.
Here's a pic.

yes if you live in southern part is guess the middle of the equater yes you can flower in spring. Last year I had a bunch of big plants that were in veg that I stuck outside in early march and they were done before summer..lol
