Hi lads, My plants are being damaged by thrips. I tried some ladybirds but they didn't fancy eating the little feckers.
Does anyone have advice on a good insecticide available in ireland that will get rid of thrips.

Damage is identical to this btw.

They are tiny long off white/yellow things that are just big enough to see with the naked eye.

get a spider and put it in wit them and he'll eat them right up sum say that if u have a spider in ur grow room u wont get any insects infestation etc, plus the spider will not harm the plants prob a bit of spider webb but wat the hell it better then them lil maggots ruinin ur plants just my thought cause if u use chemical substance it will most likely harm and pision ur plants... hope this is usefull

Thanks, I'll rehome some of the spiders, they might like it in there. i tried ladybirds but they kept flying into the light and frying.
In the meantime i have found a decent pesticide that seems to have done the trick without causing damage to the plants. it has thiacloprid as the active chemical.

ahh gud to hear u got sorted mate i had 3 plants ruined on me over the white lil buggers in my soil hopin around was nasty they were white widow and ak47 i was steamin haha,, my last grow was lemon skunk nyc deisel and lowryder bout 6 plants in total,,, got over 3 oz dry off the 1 lemon skunk alone was lemoney gud ha i had them under 600 watts hps did the job wat are u growin at the moment i wish i had a grow going right now i just dont have anywhere to do them at this time i need a spot quick ha in mean time i have some chronic im smokin on right now

Read up about pre-flowers.. Think i read somewhere that you can tell after the plant is 6 weeks old..????

Anyways, my girls are well into the buddin at this stage, i have 2 hollands hope and a blueberry x whitewidow. All going strong.

Looks like its getting a bit on the chillie side for this time of year lads.

Anyone gone shroomin yet? Was going to head out over the weekend myself, had no luck last year sadly.

hey richie, it been an age since iv been on here, my greenhouse ladies are bombing long, got so big i had to top them
shrooms have been out for 3weeks on and off, we had a sunny week 2weeks ago and that was a nightmare for shrooms, two slight ground frosts already so i reckon its gona b a short season
if the weather keep goin the way its been goin.
thinkin of startin my indoor again-somthin with a short flowein time(NOT AUTO) and mainly indica,heavy harvesting, i was thinkin afghani again but growin the same thing twice..?

they should be alright in cold conditions cos they look mostly indica, the cold weather might turn them a bit purple but its nothin to worry about

Thanks Liblah, But the 3 that i showed pics for i have already put them in my grow room on 12/12, been there for 2 days but i had a fourth that was looking a little scraggy, like the runt of a litter that i left out the back so we will see how that goes, funny thing is that i put that in the biggest pot because it was the healthiest looking when i was potting them....Will get a few pics of the grow room up in a day or two, am starting to think the big one is a male though...still have my fingers crossed...I will be keeping a close eye on it over the next few days.

Hi matty, i have 5 fem auto nlights going at the minute in attic.
If i can be of any help to you, please feel free to ask away.
My temp75 and hum 60%.
4 x 4 , home made carbon filter and vented outside using a 4 inch fan from an air hockey table.
Two 125 watt invirolites, one on blue/white spectrum and one in red spectrum.
The light has a cooling fan aswell.
Soil, grow bag B&Q.
I have 5 goodlooking broads always waiting for me up the stairs, lol.
I have named them and the one i like is called Chloe, how sad am i ?

Hi Coolham, Im very new to this and have a growtent 4x4x7 in my attic. All i have at the moment is an fan in there to keep temps down, I see you have a homemade carbob filter and homemade fan to extract. Would you have any pics or details of how you hooked it up, i really need something like this...really hope you can help because i am on a shoestring budget and all the fans and shit i am looking at cost way too much

Your grow sounds good... I once thought about growing in the attic but I found that in the depths of winter it got very cold up there..
Is the fan for the cfl's nessesary...?
Get a few pics up bud, and Chloe is a nice name......

Much depends on the height of your grow room but I'd say yeah start 12/12

Right guys need help, have had to move my grow tent in the attic and now i only have half the height, Its about 3 1/2 foot, if u look at my last post of pics my tallest one comes over the height of the light. I have tied it down, It bent nice and easy no problem at all and now is nearly horizontal, will this be alright, i will get a few pics tomorrow. Also now the temps are way to high when i close the tent i have to leave the door open, even though its in the attic in picth black will that harm my 12/12 cycle.

hi lads posted here about a week ago about piss tests with gp. was cought with a few grams of green and am required to get it.
my test is tomorow and my last smoke was last weekend (smoked about 2 grams over the weekend). before that i was off it a week.
so ive been drinking a litre of cranberry juice every day for the last week! should i pass? i heard using someone elses piss is a bad idea as
it can be dodgy bringing it into the gps? advice please

When you tie your plant down all your nuggage will go to the light, you might get a larger yeild. More light penatration = bigger nugs allround.

Cheers Richie, I was hoping for an answer like that haha.i will take some pics later when i get home. At the moment i have them with the lights on during the day and off at night, i have to change to the other way around tonight( on at night ,off during day). Do you think the change will do any harm?

Hi matty, i will get a few pics up shortly, i was having a prob with humidity and i found that if i kept the two fans on, that is the extractor and the cooling fan for the light, that the humidity came down from 78 to 62 and my temps are spot on aswell.
One week old today and my girls are all doing fine, i did not think it was possible to love so many girls at the one time,lol.

Hi Jingle, not a problem bro, i am in the same position as yourself and i have finnished my grow room for under £20, get a piece of 4 inch pipe, buy two small boxes of activated carbon and get a pair of ladys tights and one roll of duct tape, when you have all the components let me know and i will show you how to make it, you can buy the act carbon at any pet shop, it is sold for fish tanks.
If you go yo your local dump and tell one of the guys there that you are looking for a 4 inch fan, they will have one for you in no time or just ask to look through the electric part of the dump, you will get fans from pc box, hoovers, kids air hockey tables, i have built my grow room from the dump from pots to mesh from fans to pipes, so you must use your imagination to solve these problems and i will help you aswell, so relax and start getting the components that we have talked about and let me know when you are ready and i will go through the process of building the carbon filter with you, by the way i smoked a loaded bone and blew all the smoke into the box. it was extracted and i had my nose at the other end after it came through the filter there was no smell at all as i doubled the carbon layers, just to make sure, so i think we will do the same with yours my friend, hope iv helped, keep on rocking in the free world, peace and love bro
