Hey guys, Ive got a small questions for yous :D So Im building a 35cm x 35cm x 80cm Grow Box for a single white widow using the SoG method,this will be my first attempt to grow so Im taking it easy haha :D Anyways, Im confused with how the fans work and how I need to set them up as I will use 70w hps bulb throughout the grow. How many fans will i need? I have one 120mm fan so far and also, how many fans for extraction,how many for intake and where to position them. Because If i were to just use an extractor fan,how would the plant get fresh air? Sorry for my lack of knowledge Im new to this and am hoping to start a grow pretty soon :D

Hey @Nasle. Here is my take, I am sure the more experienced lads will chime in. You could have one fan drawing in, one fan drawing out. If you are using 120m pc fans there is generally an arrow on the them showing which direction the fan blows. If you were to use just one fan you would have to make a hole for the air to be drawn in, making it passive. And if you are going to put a hole in you might as well go all out and slap a fan on it.

As regards position, generally put the in fan down low(cold air sinks) and the out fan up high(warm air rises). I was growing a micro grow in a pc case with this setup and it kept the temps down easily enough with 4x21w cfl.

One fan will do for circulating air in your cab, it also strenghtens the stems, don't have it blowing directly on the seedlings, maybe over their heads.
you could get away without an extractor anyway with that size cab as a 70w wont put out too much heat but you would still need passive intake
