Used a propagator and Doff rooting powder. 2 x 36w cfls for light. Just copped tonight that the CFLs were about 8 inchs from the tops. Could that have anything to do with it

i`ve them 36w cfl`s for the veg box... you can practicly touch the top of the plant with them, 8 inch`s will induce strech if you ask me.... so that could well have been the case, wanting to strech instead of root, what hours had you got the lights on?

Have em on 18/6. Hope it was just the light being too high. Dropped it down to 2" have a feeling 4 of them could be saved if it works

i kept mine a finger width away from the tops and with a circulating fan just to cast a brezze in there.... hope it works out for you, the 36w cfl really is a great veg light..

STOP... ! I wouldnt put bulbs that close to clones....

The less the better when it comes to clones, 1 bulb would be good enough from 10"...

What you putting your cut clones in to..?

Yea they worked well for bringing the girls on as seedlings. Happy out with it.
CFL bulbs are great for vegging and cloning..! Really helpful on the way to a successful harvest.. Although I dont think it matters too much about the Kelvin with these bulbs... IMO

i think it does in flower jay, you really need the 2700k.. for veg tho anywhere between the 4500k and 6500k is the blue spectrum ..

Actually, thats one thing i haven't done is flower with CFL.. Might come in handy one day thanks..

I've cloned with what ever bulbs i could get my hands on, i did search for a while for "daylight" bulb but found that the "warm white" were doing the job, and never really go round to change them..

i used warm white aswell first time, big difference in the daylight bulbs, thicker greener plants... or maybe it was just me....:)

Their going in Westland seed and cutting compost. I added about 20% pearlite as well.
I might leave the light low for tonight and check in the morning to see if its makin things better or worse

if it was the medium the soil like, wouldn`t they all have failed instead of just one, or was it a previous run they all died?

Wasnt just one. Three died, two are in a bad way and the 4 left are showing signs of the same thing. Took them from my grow about 2 weeks ago

have you dipped them in powder or gel? taken the smallest leaves off the bottom of the cutting and cut at 45 to increase surface area, then soil?

fresh soil, and watered every second day, or so, with no nutes aswell...

oh and the water at room temp not cold or straight from the tap?

Pretty much all you said but I only watered them once a week. Thats why I thought I under watered them at the start.
I fill a 5 gallon bucket and leave it for a night and then put an airstone in to aerate the water. This water is used to water everything then
