Pay for better buds? He's a business marketing guy that doesn't even know how to grow? We've all seen how that turns out. I'm telling you, standard marketing rules do not apply, and the testing will show that his product is no better than the competition.

What's the #1 rule of marketing? Know your product. Those prices alone show me these guys know nothing about MJ, and are just suits fumbling over them

Only time will tell, but you'll see luxury marijuana become a thing.
Especially as the states begin to legalize.

Every industry I've ever entered they tell me "Standard marketing rules do not apply" and "We tried to do it that way, but it didn't work". Never ends up being a reality, it's just about who is in the driver's seat. There are guys in Colorado trying to setup Apple-store esque weed shops, luxury marijuana tours, luxury marijuana experiences and all other things related to the product.

To see luxury marijuana itself you need to look outside of NA because the USA has all sorts of federal regulations hindering financial transactions. It also applies to bongs and all other related hardware as well.

What about Amsterdam? Lots of MJ history and money over there, yet no establishments that charge 3x market prices even with all the rich tourists. And that's with an actual storefront and establishment to woo people with. Hmmm........

False. It was Marketing. They took an average strain and sold it under another name at a higher price tag.
The media is doing the same thing with the fabled Charlotte's Web and people are asking CC's and growers to grow only Charlotte's Web for them because it's the one they heard about on TV.

The Oracle sold for way too much money to way too many people simply because they created a false sense of exclusivity and rarity. It's the diamond trade all over again. That's not impossible to replicate and it can work.
It also explains exactly why these guys aren't listing the real strain you're getting.

It was more scam than marketing....they were promising crazy yields, 40+% THC and 40 day flower times and then charging stupid prices for clones.

And they aren't listing strain names because they don't know them or even have any idea of what they are going to grow....they don't even have a grower yet as they are also looking to hire one.

All I can say is that I know people that will be purchasing from this company.
It's a reality, as crazy as it seems.

You'd just have to get a new RUI username and start pumping the Hydropothecary. Done ;)
Wouldn't even be a stretch! Applying now.

For what it's worth, I actually don't support this company or what they're doing in any way.
I fully expect these guys to fail, but there will be a luxury provider that manages to get licensed.
Not knowing the status of these guys, I won't assume too much. That said, I fully believe that saying too much on your website while you're in the application process is a mistake.

They might get a license, I just don't see them getting enough market share to survive. There's a very small market for the MMPR currently and most patients I know can't even afford $8 a gram let alone $18+.
There not enough market for any of them to survive...( and that fact is just pissing off some of the wanna be LP's around here something fierce )..there just too stupid and greedy to see that...yet..not to mention the dislike the LP's have garnered from the folks who are and were growing their own. I wouldn't invest two cents in those LP businesses until it's guaranteed going to be made legal. I have seen so many retail businesses start up that I already knew were going to fail. And they did....I'm excellent at knowing that ...sorry..but I am and have proved it many times. Some people who start these things have no clue about what will work and what won't. For instance...how's it going so far with the LP's...making any money yet? Good luck...ya gonna need it !!

Just because Joe couldn't sell overpriced weed he grew doesn't mean it cannot be done by Andy or the Hydropothecary.
Also, at those prices they hardly need any market share. Exclusivity drives sales.
Joe...who's Joe??? ...Oddish

I have to agree that there will be a market for it (Recreational for the most part, or super rich patients). As an example: $400 gold print toilet paper. It exists and it sells. I know because I've personally talked to the company (German). They move the most product in Russia, China and UAE. It's not huge volume, just a few hundreds units per month, but still there are those out there who want to wipe their ass with gold.
