The hot weather

The fan splashes the water up on to the coil on some units, mine does that. As for sizing I have no clue, I wouldn't worry about the dry mode thing, again it's just low speed fan with over cool. Each watt produces appr. 3.14 btu's depending on efficeincy but no ideal about COB? I don't deal with window units other than my bedroom lol. My ductless is modulating as most are so runs long and slow, ramping up as required. Try googling sizing app for grow room perhaps :). Sorry if you said it but what size u have now? SEER is just the effiency rating not size btw. But yes oversizing is sometimes worse than under sizing for short cycling and humidity control.
I had to quickly familiarize myself with minisplits when I went shopping for my home. It's sized perfectly and in the winter has the hyperheat mode which helps a ton. As for the room it's much better with the fan speed on low and dropping it a few degrees. I think the one in my room is a 15k. With hps is was struggling a little but with the cobs it's on and off quick. I just added more light since I'm saving a little on the dehumidifier which should also help increase heat and allow the Ac to run a little longer. Simple suggestion about lowering the fan speed just saved me an ass load of energy and heat thanks a million Budley

My understanding on the efficiency of lighting is hps runs around 20% efficient depending while most Cree cobs run closer to 50%. My veg room is under ceramic metal halide which is at 43%. Lighting changes this run has saved me a lot of heat but I wasn't expecting the humidity to be as much of an issue.

I'm glad I could help a bit :). I was hoping to switch to two CMH's this fall.

What make of ductless you have? Yes they work great and mines shit lol. It's an older (8 years) unit and as soon as it breaks I'll buy a new one :). Gonna have a look at a few and compare COP's on the heat side.

I went with Mitsubishi. The guys who installed it recommended them and after some brief research it seemed like a pretty good value. It came to 3500 installed then I got a 1000 dollar rebate. My house is 1500 sq' electric everything. Stove, water heater, well and now heat from the mini and February's bill was 250. That's on the east coast too where the winters go from 0-20 degrees. It's saved me from burning 3-6 cord of wood a year and is so inexpensive to run.

Mits makes a great unit and does work down to some pretty low temps. My LG will heat most of my house (not bedrooms really well) down to -6c but I've put lots of Fujitsu in that are producing lots of heat down to -15/-20. And yup same size house and all electric everything lol. I got rid of the wood stove and put in a pellet which is great and no more cutting wood, I'd rather be hunting :), it also has a thermostat, so I can program it to go lower at night and through out the day :). Cost about $700 a year to heat with the pellets, don't use the heat pump much except for AC and heat in spring and fall.

I was just talking to an hvac friend yesterday about the Fujitsu units. Thinking of adding a small one in my walkout basement to help with humidity. He said to buy the unit, wire it and drill all the holes and to give him 300 for labor. Sounds like a winner to me. I was also looking into a pellet stove for my shop. That place gets way to cold for my little .75 cu' woodstove.

Like an idiot I should have asked you for more advice on my refrigerator. Yesterday my Bosch fridge part hit 60 degrees while the freezer was ice cold. After spending a couple hours reading and with a blow dryer I didn't see a difference at all. I left it u plugged and headed to work, during lunch I skipped to depot and ordered a new Samsung. 1/2 hour later my wife called and said the refrigerator dropped to 40 degrees so I suppose the frost blocked the intake to the refrigerator. We will keep the Samsung now and maybe stick the Bosch in my grow room.

Don't do fridges lol. Could have been a faulty defrost timer or fan quit then restarted. To much stuff in a small cabinet for my liking lol.
