The Homemade $100 Grow box

So Ganjaguru, what kind of schedule is your lighting on? 24 hr light or with dark periods? I'm feeling like my small cfl operation is making progress. I'm just wondering what will be best for the plants--no guess what the strain's preferences are (it's bagseed)--and if I should change from 24 hr constant light at some point in the process, to 12/12, you know?

I'm runnin 18/6 because to me it seems more natural. I'm also using organic soil and nutes. Its just a preferance and a state of mind I guess.
and switch em to 12/12 when they are about 1/3 to 1/2 tall in your space if its small.
just keep in mind its best to keep your cfl plants under 3 feet tall by the end.
simply because typical 26w and 42w set ups can not support a 3 foot+ flowering plant without getting really light fluffy buds. That ive seen any way...

I'm thinkin about starting flowering today. Just because I'm moving in 3 months. I guess I could wait another week so that way I can start flowering at 8 - 10 inches. they should finish around 2 1/2 - 3 feet. I think it would be kinda cool to start flowering on new years. Maybe it will bring me good luck so they will both be beautiful ladies.
My girl and I both picked out one seed from this bag of random seeds my brothers been saving from good herb over the years. No matter what they are, I plan on making hash oil pills with them regardless. Yeah, I love a tasty ice cold double perk bong rip now an then. I'm just stuck on that body high from the pills though.

fingers crossed for femles

started 12 / 12 today with 6, 42w cfls and 2, 26w CFLs, all 2700k.
went from off at 12 midnight to on 6am to off at 8pm on 8am.
So we'll see!!!!!!!!
I think they're ladies!

I think I really should wait another week now that I think about it.
Because I want to start flower around 12" not 7"
I mean I have plenty of space...
The number of pre flowers and number of nodes should be developed more I think.
They got 12 hours of sleep last night and woke up to 6 42w 2700k and 2 26w 6500k.
I just replaced 2 42's with the whiter 26's and changed the light schedual back to off at 12am on at 6am.
You think this light change from 12/12 to 18/6 the next day will stress the plant to much and make it hermie???

So, its been another week. The Ladies are 5 weeks old now.
They've grown another 2 and a half inches since the last picture post. I've been flushing with just water the past 2 weeks.
But I guess the nutes still hit em kinda hard. some bottom leaves turned yellow and then to a crisp just on the tips.
I had to cut off about one layer of the bottom fan leaves and some of the smaller branch sub leafs.
I officially started flowering this time at 9 1/2 inches. I could only find 6 of my 8, 42w bulbs. So I put 2, 26w 2700k's in replacment.... for now.

well I cant find the drawing I did right now. The light set up though is just a 4 socket bathroom vanity from the Home DePot. Cost like $20 I think. Then I just used a 14g cord with a plug-in. To hang it up I used a few feet of chain link with hooks in the frame. pretty simple...
I'll try to take a pic of the drawing when i find it...

They're both dudes... kinda bummed! thought atleast one would be a lady. So i'm tryin to let em go to just before they pop. To get the most out of em. guess i'll be makin oil for capsules or butter for brownies....

dam man this guy had some tuff luck here...lol Hopefully by now hes aight and got him some good grow room goin...
