The hell is this?

So, let me explain. One of my plants grew MUCH taller than I expected. A full 18" taller than the other plants. This caused it to grow inside the reflector, and one of the stems just sat in there a few inches away from my 400 watt HPS for several weeks. I tied it down as best I could, but it was just going to get damaged.

Anyway, I had to harvest early (long story), so I chopped last night and started trimming. On the stem which was so close to the light, there were dozens of these little globs of what looks like sap. I'm guessing it's a result of the intense heat for so long, but I really don't know what it is. Could be a fungus for all I know.

So, any idea what this is and what I should do about it?

your probably right it's some kind of resin the plant was emitting probably what it sends to it's buds for production. You can see some serious burning on the plant too. ANyways I hope the other buds are more mature they are looking a little thin. Live and learn the time the stretch can really surprisze you.

Yeah, that top was burned very badly. The other tops were fine. The smaller little spots are much clearer and you can see through them to a degree, so I don't think it's a fungus. Just the extreme heat caused the plant to be damaged and I guess that's how it was repairing itself. Who knows, maybe it's loaded with THC. Going to have to drum up the courage to smoke a bit of it and see.
