:hump:So one night me and my boyfriend are smokin up and we had seeds from the bag we bought. I am a avid gardener myself so he popped a seed in one of my newly plated pots and it sprouted days later ...I have been obsessed since.

My boyfriend planted a few more (on his own terms, not really having a green thumb and grabbing the crap soil he bought) they sprouted but after a week. After doing extensive reading I went out ad bought organic soil and gave them there own little pots to stretch out in with some good nutrients. I watered them (only after repottig them) once with Miracle grow after that every three day
p1.jpg This is them after transfering 4/29, they look happy and healthy under a CFL light (the little guy in the cup was a complete rescue, just popped out of nowhere because i thought there was only 4 succesful seeds in the pot) he's the runt of the liter lol There about 4 day old here.p2.jpg

Since then I really dont have the ideal light set-up I am a bit worried..... just a lamp, some aluminum to reflect light and there by a window for fresh air(not really high-tech) , I would place outside but we have had terrilbe weather this last week and I have kept them inside under this set up.

Here they are at a week old.

p4.jpg my worry is that they have gotten really tall but I havent seen much change in there leaf size (kinda bobble head) they still look healthy and strong once there is a solid sunny day outside they go but it the bobble head issue mean there just growig into there size maybe or am I over reacting? Also do they stress if I move them, I like to take them outside for real sunlight?

I also have 8 more on there way that are going to be strictly grown outside, I have a private back yard enclosed and most of the edges are covered in Poison Ivy so I have the ideal outdoor set up, im not look to have a hemp farm now but im a avid smoker that and out of this batch of 10 seeds I papertowel germed 8 sprouted when the last two havent sprouted at all, why not grow instead of buy.

p8.jpgp9.jpgthis last one is a soil mix that im trying out, ill keep posted.

Hey this is almost the same way I started growing. I think your light set up is fine for the first few weeks. All my plants kinda streched too and their fine now. Good luck.

Your lil beauties are looking good
Good to see your using beer cups, in my experience (our family has one hectare of garden, so my thumb was forced to be green) it encourages better root structure to start small.
As for the stretchiness it shouldn't be a problem, you can just bury them up to the leaves when you repot.
Mine were also a lil stretched when i started.
My problem was I had the light too far away, I didn't realise cfls could be almost touching the plant.
I keep mine about 2 inchs above at the early stages and move up to around five after the second set of leaves and then play is by ear.
Looking good, keep up the good work :)

Update: I have gained sprouted about seven more plants but I lost three from my original first five. Problem was that that I needed soil one day because i wanted to add a little more and on my way home I stopped by a local florist and I picked up what I thought was soil. The soil sucks and does not hold moisture and two of my plants fainted, the stem got real dry. I have added water and repotted to see if they will live but to no avail. I still have 7 more plants all in organic soil and they are all outside and they look so strong and happy compared to the ones I have been growing inside. SO today I am scrappin the three that are in the pots and transferring. I will post photos tommorow. I guess that its a learning process but I was real heart broken yesterday.

I can't help you with soil, sorry.

CFL's - for veg use a mix of 3, 6500K to 1, 2700K CFL's. For that many plants you'll need a fair amount of room, how big's your grow?
Flower, I have to say go with HPS.

Have fun.

I bought 2 phillips grow light 75 watt bulbs, but I have decided to move them outdoor, its really alot of work for a indoor grow room and my husband has gotten on my case about the light bill (womp womp) . I have a perfect set-up outside. beside I obviosly wasnt doing it right, I had two plants inside already faint from dehydration due to some soil I picked up on the way home that sucked and didnt hold moisture and the light just dryed them out even more making my babies pass out. But I sprouted several more (the pics up) that have been strickly grown outside and they look wayyy healthier then my indoor plants that look fragile and unweathered. Today I will be doing some much needed loving to my plants ill post pic tommorow.

NEW UPDATE MAY 10th 2012
we are three weeks in, out of my first five plants I only have two left and a half (there one I hope with a lil love I can save)

I bought some crap soil one day runing home from work and bought the phillips lights, The combination totally dried up two plats and they ended up fainting, a day later another one. So I realized when I added water that the soil was not sucking per say the water. Mistake one. I was mortified but the biggest of the three that didt snap off when I pulled it from the soil I have re planted.

Since I could find Maine forest (which is the organic soil I love) I went to home depot and got Miracle grow organic soil and I found some Blood meal which is what everyone recommends for vegative stage.

Now I have give a little blood meal to my seedlings last night which are outside and looking very healthy, I got 9 plants and a awesome batch of seed so I want these to get at least a month in before i brink another ten plants on my plate. The part I fear is reconizing the sex when that time comes, hopefully I will catch it intime and also, they Hermi.....how the hell does that happen?

But here are my updated photos of my seedlings

this one is the most far along, it was the runt and has surpassed the rest

This one is from the first batch but I think it has stunted in growth, I have transfered it into some new soil and given it some blood meal so hopefully life

Now my other outdoor babies

From this point on I will leave them alone until its time to transfer the ones in the cups to pots, keep you posted!!! ANy feed back would be appreciated!!!!

Well I noticed that when you had them indoors you were feeding seedlings, which is a no-no...your lights were too far away, and you didn't have a fan...good luck with them begin outside..most MJ doesn't like or need a whole lot of nutes, so be gentle.

Ok bare with me because Im new at the lingo per say, What do you mean feeding them? Light you mean? yeah it was a crappy setup, that why theey are outside and those original five died on me....lesson learned...now the ones in the cups are doing well. What do you mean nutes? Nutrition? I totally notice that my first problem was the soil. The soil I have now is great....Maine Forest its called. I got advice from someone else that the Miracle grow organic might be too hot for them and it definately was. Killed one of the indoor plants almost immediatley. Now im down to the seven that I had sprouted in the cups and they are looking good. It takes a little longer to grow them outside but I feel like there stronger sinced there weathered. THANK YOU FOR THE COMMENTS :)

PIC UPDATES MAY 16th

So it was pouring yesterday while I was at work and my plants got there ass kicked outside. I truly thought I had lost them. I have my mom visiting and I called her to pull them in once I noticed the heavy rainfall. She asked why only these little ones in cup am I pulling in ad not your flowers, I said there cannabis plants.......silence for the moment and then she said. Like Marijuana? .....I said yes ma....so expecting to get my ass chewed out............she asked me if she could smoke one yet.......I WAS DYINGGGG LAUGHING!!!!!! My mom just hit a new level of cool.

The one in the clay pot had grew so much it was time to repot. Keep you fingers crossed that there ok after that rain fall beating.

Should I repot all of them at this size?

You can repot now or later, it is up to you...but you want to repot before too long...I usually wait til I see a little root in the drainage holes...and what i was saying before is that you were giving them fertilizer when they are still seedlings...Seedlings will be more harmed by feeding too early than helped. So the MG is too hot, and you also fed them some fertilizer, if you added blood meal, or MG ferts, that is nutes...also what I mean when I say feeding...all plants need light.

Gotchu, I have ordered some new soil which is what they started with... Coast of Maine. for when I transport. The blood meal that was added was on the top two inches of the soil and no more the half a tea spoon each. The soil that you see is a a mix between the soil (Coast of Maine and Miracle grow) of one of the plants that didnt make it due to me being uneducated and not noticing that the soil was too dry. Im hoping they forgive me and once I change them back to preferred soil. As far as light and my husband, I have decided to grow them outside. One the bill.......he doesn't care if I grow a freaking forest he cares abouts the light bill. Outdoor light has been doing them good, also the breeze and there growing strong. My issues at the moment is the weather, we have had some really rainy days.....thae last photos I posted up of them under a light is because they were all twisted after a huge rainfall that kicked there asses yesterday and I was trying to atleast straighten them up thats why you dont see a fan, it was my emergency kitchen counter lol....Thanks for the feed, hope to here from you on my next update...if they dont caput!!!!

its good you didnt use an abundance of blood meal.one time i mixed 1/2 cup of blood/bone meal into soil in.i a 1 qt. pot for a transplant and watered immediately(epic novice mistake) and my soil smelled like the negative side of a compost heap/dead squirrel a few days later, long story short murder she wrote.dont even touch the stuff anymore.i know it does wonders in moderation i just other organic means atm.the ladies look perfectly healthy,it blows me away how resilient every strain ive came in contact with has proven to be.cant wait to see how they develop, safe growing!

dont feed until like 3 weeks .. miricle grow organic has nutes.. u dont want nutes in the mix and then to water with nutes just get rid of the soil.. or stop feeding.. just give phed water with that soil or u will burn them i know from experinece.

Yeah a few of my coalas turned yellow and I freaked, I noticed I added too much blood meal. SInce then I have stop and nothing has happened to my upper leaves but I have read thru someone elses expierience that I should remove those dead leaves due to rot in the future, I just didnt want to harm my plant but I guess a little pruning is in order.

Can I ask your advice, I read one of your post about getting rid of your Hermie Plants and you got lazy with some dead leaves and it cause rot (something along those lines) .......My coalas turned yellow and they kinda dried up (only on three plants out of seven) and are hanging there (due to too much blood meal) , i didnt see that it has affected my upper leaves (no yellowing, drooping or anything). I didnt want to harm my plant so I havent removed them, no there still a month old and are no where near there flowering stages. Will removing them hurt the plant and if I dont could I be worried about some rot forming in the future?
