I.. think you'll be reassessing in the next couple of weeks. Are there ANY amber trichomes? What do you think about just taking a cola or two, drying and curing (if curing floats your boat), coming back in a week or two, doing it again, keeping notes the whole time of course. You might get a better idea of how to assess each strain. This.. crap, this plant pictured isn't one of my SMS Bagseed Girls, is it? I can't remember. Anyway, that one girl of mine, #15 Norene Badseed (I have a feeling it's gonna be a LOT more potent than it was a few weeks ago whe we sampled her) has continued developing those fat, white pistils, but has amber triches. She and.. #4 I believe, along with Papaya, are getting to that stage where I want to experiment. Hopefully this will make re-vegging easier, as well. :)
Just back from camping and checking in. It actually feels really good not to smoke for a while. I was developing such a massive tolerance, I needed to bring it down a bit. I keep looking at my plant every day and trying to figure out when she'll be ready to harvest. The buds are getting really big!

And yeah, yeldah, I think I'm going to try the growing-in-the-window thing. But would the amount of sunlight we get during the winter be enough, or do I need to put a light in there too? Also, it was lovely to see you, I was sorry you had to leave before I got back that morning!

Cab plants are doing great. Soil is totally the way to go. The 3D is busting out all over. Woo!

Seamaiden, did you get your package??
Fantastic, package JUST arrived, lb. 8) If we can delay my return, I'd like to round out the blessing, if you'd like. :)
im back...sorry guys and girls I was banned for a while....whatever...anyway...put a hold on the care package...i am moving to panama in two weeks from today.....I sold all my equipment to mrs mcgreggor...but I will be growing outdoors in panama...so you will all still see me around...game on!
:o Good lord..! #1 I had no idea; #2 WOW! Tu hablas la lengua, si?; #3 WOWEE!!! Are we gonna get to see Honkeytown on that show on HGTV, Househunters International? :D THAT'D BE SO FUCKIN' BOMB!!! :D Wow, then I could totally point and be all, "I KNOW HIM!" :D

I don't have any amber trichomes yet...they're still clear. Dammit, I wanna smoke it! It smells sooooo good & yummy & fruity!!

I'm thinking about building a bud dryer...there's a tutorial somewhere on here that I'm too lazy to search for. It's basically a Rubbermaid container with a fan, a carbon filter, and a screen. Is there any reason why drying my buds this way would be a bad idea?

Also, I'm trying to figure out how to do the window-grow-room thing yeldah was talking about. I figure I can keep 'em in the cab until it's time to flower and then move them into the window with a light. Can someone recommend a good one that would be relatively inexpensive? Recommendations for plastic to cover it would be appreciated as well. Here are some pics of the space she's talking about. The Little Bat decided he wanted to be in them. Yes, his tail really is that huge. :)

Al B. Fuct is the man you want to search for, for the bud dryer thing. I hope to build a dryer AND experiment with rice for drying purposes, though it seems to me that its real efficacy would be realized in decidedly more humid environments than mine.

I have done some sampling and quick dry using very short bursts in the microwave, on low power settings (I use 30%-40%, 5-10 second bursts). Doesn't taste great, but if you do it right you don't burst the trichomes. Speaking of which, all still clear, no cloudy trichs? They'll get there, they've got to!

As for plastic.. Plexi and acrylic tend to be expensive, more so than glass. I think I'd build a glass box to fit inside, just like an aquarium. 100% silicone, and if you want to know how to run the bead for the best seal let me know, I've built and resealed literally hundreds, if not thousands, of aquariums (some of 'em pretty ghetto, too  ). So, would you put the growing area UNDER the A/C, or remove the A/C since it's going to continue cooling off?

Me, either! But when I read it, it made perfect sense. I mean, in Puerto Rico everyone's salt shakers have rice in them, to keep the salt dry. :D

Spark!! Really? Pics please!!!! How long did they take to dry? How did you dry them? I assume you've smoked some...how is it?

Seamaiden, what do you do, just put the buds in a bag of rice or something? That's some wackiness right there! BTW, I can't wait for you to grow the other Sub strains. It's so funny, each of the two seeds I planted of each strain are exactly the same size. As in, the 3Ds are the biggest, the Jillybeans are the second biggest, and the Querkles are the smallest. They all seem quite happy. I'm a soil grower for life, I do believe!

The rice will probably get stick in the buds if you just stick 'em in there. So, I'll probably use a layer of waxed paper, and this rice will be like my pie beans -- ONLY to be used for blind baking the crusts and never to be eaten. Although... who knows, maybe some skunk skank rice would be tasty.

Did you miss my previous suggestion/request? If we can wait to a certain point I will be able to round out the return.

Delay the return? Round out the blessing? Eh? :)

Anything you send me at any point will be much appreciated. Right now I'm all good growing the new Sub seeds!

You're way better than I could do for you, but yes. You've sussed it. :D At least one will be a pure strain. I took some pix the other day to add to my journal. It's kind of funny, all the plants I didn't LST have like four colas, they just look funny as hell.

LB - I agree with Seamaiden about the plexiglass. Easy to size for your former airconditioner area and a little silicone will hold it in place and together. The only thing I'm not sure of is the heating thing. It gets cold where you are and you may need to heat that outside area. Also Im not sure how you will use a light in that area if needed. Wouldnt it attract attention to your grow?
