The great American Smokeout

What do you think would happen if every cannabis user in America went down to their local "cop shop" and smoker out once a month, :joint::o and then DEMANDED their day in court? No law enforcement district could handle all the arrests and the courts would be flooded. The entire prison system would collapse under the weight of that many inmates. Sound insane? You bet, but if EVERY cannabis user did that, just one day a month, especially all the cops, lawyers, judges and politics who smoke up it would be pandamonium. And believe me, some of the folks busting us are users too. Every state and the feds too would have to redraw the MMJ and small time user would be protecting everyones' interests against DEA domestic terrorism on potheads.:hump:

Equal treatment for all under the constitution!

While the thought appears to have merit, when one understands how laws are made in this country one realizes it would never work. Petitions, bills, laws. It begins with the states. http://thomas.loc.gov/home/lawsmade.toc.html

I have another post elsewhere where that fact is stated. A 2/3rds majority of states is necessary to put it to the American voting public since federally we have no popular referendum policy. However, this would definately shake the buggers up and could possibly hasten enactment.

See the main problem is that all these smokers want relief but far too many won't combine efforts to do anything legal to push it as a group which is what would be necessary. Stay divided and keep loosing. Unify efforts and make a showing of solidarity then headway can be made and more folks swayed in favor. Middle Eastern nations are finally doing that right now and they are effectively taking back their countries. We don't need to go as far as they have done since they don't have the remedies that our constitution gives us. Do it in the voting booth and leave the violence out of it.

It is mainly written as food for thought. I realistically do not believe that under normal circumstances any appreciable number of stoners and MMJ folks would be willing to participate. Another thing, we need to put out in front people of undeniable credibility, not a mob of folks puffing away on joints, pipes and bongs all red-eyed and acting almost confrontational. The wrong image goes a long way to ruin any chance of passage. BUT..................if I'm wrong think of the possibilities.
