Same here. Living on a walleye / crappie lake makes everything else catch and release.

Ive never had a walleye before or ever caught one. I hear alot of people love to eat them but Ive never had one. Whats the flavor like? Is it light like a perch?

Yes. White meat, flakey, very mild tasting. Walleye and perch are my 2 favs.

The local fish seem to be getting on that fall bite. Fishing has been pretty good around here.

I actually bought some fresh cod on sale a couple days ago for 6 bucks a pound WOW. I bought ten pounds, I had some today, just plain with salt & pepper baked in the oven with a fresh salad and some blue cheese

I know. Been stressful at work past coupl weeks it's taken a toll on my well being. Up at 3am tmrw and down to the river though. Going with the kids. (Young guys). Should be a good time.

Nice! That's what I need is a decent net. I got a nice new trout net but have been looking for a larger one for pike and walleye. Walmart has a collapable-telescopic one but it's $80. The smaller one with shorter pull-out handle is bigger than the trout net but not going to hole a big fish very well. I bought a $200 TV there yesterday that's going back so maybe grab that big net in the city next week.
Sure wish there were fish like that here instead of these monstrosities I have to settle for if I want to go fishing. At least there's some nice trout close by.

Nice. That's not my net, it's my buddies. Mine is much bigger it's a lucky strike net. I changed the basket out for a rubberized one. Lol. I have nets for every type of occasion.
