I'm already dreaming of Afghani/Thai/Haze crosses... or African crosses. I'm guessing there will be more than a couple good Afghani bases to start working from. The interesting thing is that the different farms have different selection methods and operating criteria. These aren't true landraces but they have most likely been improved over time for sure. We baby our grow soils but look at that parched, tan dirt with almost no organic matter. And these genetics can still pull through? I'm excited to see what can happen when conditions improve dramatically!

Of course, I'm really excited about the Red Maruf too. ;-)

Seems your not the only one to have die off after germination. Out of two packs of Maruf one green one black we only ended up with three plants. About 70 percent germ on the black and 80!on green. Plants got first set of leaves and just stopped growing never got another set. Sent emails and such about the problem and the reply I got was it was soil or enviro problem.
hermed ten other cultivars same time and the Maruf were the only ones that did this.
So yeah it was our fault. Lol.

As there field collected seeds if yer having issues after they pop with em just dying off shortly after sprouting try cleaning them a lil before you germ them with some water and hydrogen peroxide that way your sure theres no pathogens on the outside of the seed coat that can mess with em once they have popped id say that should be standard practice with any field collected seeds it could be soil is too rich id use normal seedling compost for them not super rich stuff to er on the safe side

Man, arghandab black is a beautiful smelly plant. It smells like dirt earthy hasty with like roasted pistachio and maybe a fruit or citrus at the backend...it has little trichs. But I'm flower for Sept 18th, got a shit ton of seeds from one plant cause I picked it. But got like 20 from another I haven't begun to pick through, I'll pic it, but that plant is chunky and beautiful, gonna cure it when it's done. And I'll take a few pics later today
