The Church, All it's chalked up to be?

Hi I'm not exactly a noob. I've gone threw the more embarasssing failures before I wised up and got a book. sadly now my book has become outdated and Now I must seek my answers somewhere else. Like here! I've read my fair share of posts and I've learned about what to expect.. Thank you to those who have and relay, First and second hand information. I appreciate the thought bout if the info you have is from the breeder, I've got it, that is what drew my attention to this strain.

As for my question,.. I'm starting a show and I'm having issue deciding on one strain. The Church is of interest as id Arjan's strawberry haze. If any one has info on Nirvanas Papaya I'm also quite interested in that strain.

had an ounce of the stuff from a buddy. it was real deal ghs church. very sweet tasting and smelling and teh potency was surprisingly very high.

Do some research on The Church, there have been problems in the past w/ low germination rates. I got 3/10 that germinated and popped soil. Only 1 was left as a viable plant, i killed off the other 2 because they were runts in a crowded perpetual grow. I dont have time to wait on a weak plant. During the same time i went 3/10 on The Church I went 9/10 on seeds from other breeders and 5/5 from my own seed stock. This is not a case of user error.

I will say that the 1 plant that was a keeper plant is beautiful. I topped her and she loved it. The nodes are tightly spaced and the fan leaves are massive.
Whatever choice you make good luck w/ your grow

^^^4-11 of there Kings Kush, u may get lucky and get a stellar batch of seeds, doubt tho..

Yeah I got 2 0f 3 to germinate, and had to kill a runt. The keeper though is a real beauty. MASSIVE root system. I have 7 more seeds hopefully I can get at least 4 cause I definatly like to clone this strain. On the other hand I have grown GHS super silver haze and had a 100% germ rate with no herms. I am on the last month of growing GHSD alaskan ice and also had 100% germ rate with 1 runt.

Is low germ rate the only issue people have had with The Church? I plant to grow the seed out to full maturity (3 months or so..) find the strongest among them and take her for a mother, and flower the rest. Been working with bag seed genes and I feel that I've learned enough to take the next step. I figure if I'm going to get the results I'm looking for I need to get the proper genetics.

i have 10 fem church i will make sure to pm any valuable feedback. I did have ssh also and like this other user no hermies or runts, top notch harvest...

My last Batch of seed came from the tude and it consisted of 5 fem the church from green house seeds and all the skunk cross freebies. All the freebies germed and are currently growing, but im 0 for 4 on the church. One left, hoping for the best!

i feel that if you dont have at least one of your church seeds sprouting youre a dummy.

yeah i got a freebie church seed from the attitude. it took forever to crack, but its root never grew anymore. i kept it in a damp towel for like two weeks and it finally just started rotting away. so just make sure you get more than one or two...im sure its a great strain from what ive heard as well.

Papaya is a tough as nails strain. I abused the shit out of them on my last grow and still got 2 oz's per plant. The smell is like fresh fruit and the resin is sick. When you roll a doob it feels like you were playing with fly paper. The stone is a heavy hitter too. Also i like how it stays short. Great for SOG. I bought 10 and all germed and 7 were fem. Here is a couple pics @ allmost 3 weeks flower.

hey ive grown the church in 2 grows.not as potent as other strains but still does the job,its prtty ez to grow, bitch stays hungry it seems, and also u will need odor control cux she is 1 stinky bitch. i only had 1 plant goin and i can smell her from the front door. i will not b growin it again due to this. i cant handle the paranoia

I done a grow with ten church about a year ago and all ten germed and all grew nice,,,good harvest,,but i had a few seeds forming in the buds not to much tho,,,,,then i decided to grow more bought ten only 6 germed. of the 6 one was a pissy little runt and one turned full on male,,dirty sh**. so i was left with 4 and what i cant belive is the yeild was poop compares to the last lot. i dont advise these seeds too many storys going around about them..
PS> my mate bought BIGbang his germ rates were rubbish to and the mould is a real problem with those bad boys

Ya I have to agree inconsistency seems to be a problem w/ GHSC.

My 1 Church seedling is a beast now. She stink in veg and grows very quickly. Probably an amazing outdoor plant.

I am growing one Church plant, in flower now. Getting sugar coated big time. One thing I will remember to do (when I grow her again) is to keep her thin out. She grows all kinds of thin stems that need to be trimed off.

I got a 100% germ rate from 10 femz, 2 (5)pks of The Church. Started a 5pk of Big Bang only got 1... No loss there. Had some Lemon Haze, Kings Kush and Bubba Kush (2 each) all freebies from The Attitude and all but one of the Bubba Kush started. I have been growing GHS for years and can say for the price, Hey least they are female right? My favorite of all their stuff is the Great White Shark. My favorite indica of all time. Tried getting some Mr. Nice Shark Shock, as that was the original bred by Shantiba before he ditched GHS, but the shit is hard to get and sold out everywhere I care to order from. I have always had trouble getting the colored beans to pop and gave up on waisting my $ on that color coded shit. Terrible germ rates with those.

I'll throw in another recommendation for papaya, i've grown it out before and its a nice plant and can be quite strong. Only real negative is it liked to stretch on late flowering and needs a little more time when trimming.

i dont know alot about papiya but i have had the pleasure to smoke a few oz's of it which my friend grew and i must say it was a very nice smoke ..

although everything i have had from him has been top quality
