The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

You shouldnt buy your drivers on alibaba anyways, they have a great warranty which is somewhat non actionable if yyou have to send to china.

ELG240 may have 0-10V but not sure and also its downratted on 120V circuits.

As for why not the digital controller: i have nothing against it just dont like 0-10V for an absolute off. Dont trust it to reliably over time switch completely off, i think its inviting Murphy into the grow. If theres a little power in the circuit you might have some slight soft light even at full off. But it might work fine aswell, id just not take the risk.
Id go for relay and then some kinda pwm controller: i believe they lend them selves more to multiple lights.

Some people around have seen

Yeah I guess I need to figure out if it's worth me having to put these lights together or buying them already made

Diy ftw! But with that many it might be a bitch
That 7yr warranty is nice but putting together 54 of these things doesn't sound like efficient use of my time lol. I'd rather possibly lose a few drivers then spend the time soldering up the drivers on 54 of these lights lol.

On another note meijiu can install the elg just as easily as the hlg and im running 240v single phase to the lights so there's that.

I could also install a sonoff switch or plug for every 2 lights and use that with WiFi instead of flip boxes. I need the ability to use wifi to control the environment and lights which is why I don't want to use a mechanical timer relay or flip box

e function active... fast mode...
How do I know if the maijiu 240w lights use 90% or more of the load? I was hoping to buy it and forget it not actually learn all the differences between cc or CV and how the boards wattages are calculated lol.

Whoever you pick for lights... get the bars. I’ve run boards and bars, and definitely switching to bars.

The coverage across canopy is amazing. NO larfy edges across a 9 x 5.

How are you liking the meijui bar light? I've seen a 1000w they call octopus looks like a great 1kw De replacement and could probably run pretty effecient if dimmed down to 600-700w

I have the Majo’s/Octopus. 10 bar @ 800 watts. They are special order.

Two are more than sufficient for a 9x5. Overkill really.

Never looking back.

The MJ-650 are also very nice.
Trying to weigh my options on running these vs the 240w or 480w quantum boards.

What drivers are you using for 800w? I notice their 1000w uses. 600 and 320 meanwell.

Hi guys. Im having a hard time figuring out what driver to use to power kingbrite quantumboard. My options are hlg 240 and hlg 320. Im planning on buying the hlg 320 and use it at full wattage and just dim it down to 240 watts(my last resort) if my mom will notice unusual power consumption to avoid getting troubles. Is dimming an HLG 320 driver down to 240watts will work the same as HLG 240 regardless of the efficiency? Need your help guys

how does 2x drivers of different outputs work together? are they ran in series across all 8 bars equally distributing the output of the combined wattage across 8 bars?
There are 10 bars total on each Octopus fixture.

6 bars are wired to the 480 watt driver and the remaining 4 bars are wired to the 320 watt driver.

Edit:There are 10 bars total on each of DrKiz's fixtures. The Octopus is a different light sold by Meijiu with 9 bars. I wonder where they came up with the Octopus name.
