The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

@Barristan Whitebeard
It works, as far as info provided. Id probably go for 2 x 240 drivers: makes for smaller and more flexible fixtures and as per hlg steve the failure rate on 240s is the lowest in the series. 480w driver failure takes out more light and is expensive to replace if you cant wait for warranty. A 240 driver can be replaced cheaply if you cant wait.
I still find that funny as I've had to rma 4 of my 240s

I dont know what to say... Thats shitty. If you bought them all at the same time it could be a batch issue. Still feel its better to go smaller and more modular, no matter the failure rate. HLG should have enough drivers sold to establish some sort of curve, just repeating what i heard awhile ago from hlg steve on the gml show.

Fairly possible that ill have to take some downtime from riu, there some family issues brewing...

i think ive just had my first driver crap out on me...im surprised it took so long to be honest. its been sat directly on top of a hot QB v1 since the beginning of time. its a 240, can i test it? i have a voltmeter thingy thats still in its box from like 2016

@Rocket Soul dunno whats up but i hope everything sorts itself out, man.

Ya just put the positive probe on the positive wire and the same for negative and just have it turned on

Found this baby’s hope someone tested it and could give some info (par test, general satisfaction and etc):

Planing to put 6-8 of this for 4x4 tent if all adds up right

A Samsung is a Samsung no matter who puts it on a pcb would you rather give your money to the American who engineered the layout or someone who copied it and is selling it cheaper

Yeah you right I was having the same debates on Android phones, but on the ather hand it can be something else marketing as sumsung + I’m pretty sure it’s not top bin and again we home grower and not nasa project to grow plants on space so it’s not gonna be huge difference for half the price

Nope not for half price. I'd rather support other local industries.
They are cri80

I find it funny that HLG and others would come on these boards and trumpet the 301b diodes to be exa tly the same as 301H diodes. Yet their new 650s have 301H diodes. It laughable.

For Your Information the new QB 648+ boards (the HLG 650R uses four of these boards) are made by Samsung in South Korea.

LM301H are marketed by Samsung as a "Horticultural Lighting Solution" and now they themselves are incorporating these diodes into boards designed for Horticultural applications.

Is this beginning to make sense?

Fixed.

Now it's a fair question.

Hey man.the while point of my post is that it is rediculous to be splitting hairs over diodes.
You can't split hairs over 50 percent savings but from meijiu or kingbrite.
