The Captian's Log

Hey all, I am still feeling like crap so I am gonna post a small update without photos.

The girls are doing well except that the strawberry cough has developed yellowing on the top leaves, from the inside of the leaf to the outside. The yellowing isnt uniform at all, with one big fan leaf having the yellowing and the one right next to it thats smaller is nice and lush green. Kinda weird but I havent looked into it at all yet. Besides that she is budding like a mofo, stacking nicely. The dq is really starting to take off and the thing I like about her structure is that she is really well spaced which allows even light to hit all over her canopy, its making the premature buds heavy and extremely resinous which of course makes the branches spread out even more. I wounded a branch on her when I was doing my rez change so I had to splint her up but she should be fine. My captian's kush is doing its thing, should get 4 nice foot long buds off of her plus some popcorn. The cheese is taking its sweet ass time but has the fruitiest smell already, much fruitier than the strawberry.

I switched nutes over from the open sesame to the beastie bloomz yesterday, they will get that for 3 weeks and then get cha ching for the last 3-4 weeks of flower. Hard to believe that we are already approaching 5 weeks which leads up to my favorite part, weeks 6-8 when things are the most exciting in so far as bud formation and ripening.

I am gonna buy me a bubble now machine in the coming weeks, I am tired of the iso hash I have been making and LOVE hash so $365 aint bad for the machine + filter bags. All I gotta do is put my trim and popcorn in the 220 micron bag with ice, fill the machine with ice and RO and throw in the bag to be agitated, then you drain the trich filled water through your bubble bags and viola, top shelf hash :D

I have decided to participate in a local cannabis cup next year and will be entering a concentrate as well as some of my personal project strains so the next few cycles will be important.

Sorry for not posting pics, am just too exhausted, I have a bad head cold and havent been able to sleep well at all, now my girl has it too. Oh well, at least my plants are somewhat healthy.

I am hooking up some speakers to play music in the tent, just for a small test.

Seriously, Capn'?
A test? I'm intrigued!
I'd be into journaling the effects of sound on plants.
...'cos I decided a couple nights ago, my women probably love to bump-n-grind as much as the rest of us. So, I've left 5 of my fave discs rotating throughout the day/night.

I'm goinna' Google the effects of music on plants.
Positive vibes man;-)

As a side note, I also have wondered what the effects of long wave vibration would have on a plant.(about the wave of a coin-op motel bed.) I've got this theory that it would produce a thicker, more stocky main. More of a guess than a theory.

(Geeze, sorry to hijack your thread.)

I hooked up some computer speakers to my ipod, I put "beautiful" by snoop dog and a few other tracks that make me think of beautiful women on a playlist and we are off.

I would definitely agree that vibration like you describe would prolly give you a stalkier plant but I think that would be because the stems would become much thicker than normal, as an example, I have grown the same strain in a few different outdoor locations and can tell you that the windy locations produce plants with stronger stems, thicker stems, etc but this didn't translate directly to the size of the buds, which to my knowledge are more dependent upon the basic factors of all living things, nutrition and genetics.

Interested in what you find.

Just a quick update, today marks exactly once month in flower, I have moved the light up and the top of the SC is already starting to get some green back in her. It's either the light or the music but she likes its.

My house is starting to smell lovely...

lol, classic, actually this episode is partially to blame for my willingness to attempt it in the first place.

You know, about 90% of the show is filmed within 50 miles of where I live and I even went to HS with Carry, ;)

Right-on!
It just occurred to me that at our house, we now leave the TV on for the dogs and and the stereo on for the happy vegetation.
