The Bud is Done But the Seeds Aren't

I have a breeder girl that is done as far as the bud is concerned. But the CS he/she took way to long to switch sides and I pollinated her just 2wks ago. It will take at least 2 if not 3wks to mature the seeds. 2 questions

1. Can I cut the non pollinated branches off and finish the the other?? The pollinated bud is the main cola on the major stem, I'd be cutting side branches off of it.

2. Will the seeds still mature even though the plant is in fade mode, and will it make it another 3wks??

If anyone has faced this, I'd like to hear what your experience was. Thanks.

the bud will be fine allow the seeds to mature. with that attitude i hope you where patient with your pollen collecting, often early pollen is sterile.

patience you have come this far. the buds are just gonna rot an fall off over nite and you wont lose potency the high will just be more sleepy perhaps youll will enjoy the different buzz. do not fret.

Thanks poly. This was very early pollen. This particular strain (Maui-Wowie) is very hard to hermi or chemically make change sides. This is my 2nd attempt. I went 50days of spraying CS, and the poor plant looked like warmed over death. But if I backed off with the CS it would start to build female bud on top of the sac's. I finally took the unopened fully swollen sac's off, dried them, crushed them, and dumped the mix on the main cola. I was going to chop it down earlier today but did a little digging and found several very immature seeds, so I want to finish the seeds.

I don't really care too much about want happens to the bud. But if I could take the couple of other good buds on the plant now without compromising the health of the seeds I would, but if this could ruin my chances of finishing the seeds then I'll let it go.

you say that early pollen is sterile, does that mean the plant will produce sterile seeds or just that the pollen won't do anything and the pistils won't recede, and just wait for later pollen to impregnate it?

it means both it could make sterile seeds, or not pollinate. now mind of course depending on the males health will really depend on whether the pollen is sterile or not, it can happen that a herm or even male produce all sterile pollen. i just prefer to use the pollen from a later burst, because it will have the highest chances of viability.

its just a numbers game chances and percentages. they mean nothing in reality, the truth is in most cases that early pollen will be just as viable as late pollen, but the percentages can differ.(20% viable 80%non, in first week. second week 80% viable and 20% non, not to mention a larger amt. of pollen)

Sterile seeds? By that I gather you mean the seeds form. But then won't germinate? I'd have to say I've never seen that before, unless the seeds were deformed in some way or something like that.

yes exactly they usually only make it to the premature seed stage of life, some times, rare tho they will finish form but there will always be some deformity to it whether you see it or not. ive tried planting deformed seed from breeding like that but they dont pop.
