i had a 7.5 inch culprit worm. color was crawdad. i had a 2/0 worm hook offset shank. with ten pound test no weight caught him in about 6 ft of water. the rod and real are shimano s-60mb2 rod on a 2500fb reel. surprisingly the rod and reel are one of those 14.99 walmart specials. cheap rod plastic reel with plastic gears. it was a panfish rod. so catching it on that rinkadink rod made it more memorable

If you ever get the chance to go to lake powell or lake mead they have such a ridiculous amount of stripers you can throw it out and pull one in every couple minutes, its a blast.
i went to lake powell about three years ago.we caught 76 stripers in about twoo full days of fishing

im going snook fishing this weekend. hopefully this coldfront comming wont screw the fishing up
+Rep for the Snook fishing memory - I remember growing up in south Fla in the 70's, my older brother & I went bass fishing in a very old quarry pit back in the woods behind Homestead AFB. It was landlocked & nobody went there so we could smoke. We caught a couple 2 to 3 lb bass when by brother got a terrific strike & after one hell of a fight we landed a 34lb Robalo. He still has that mount on his wall. And two teenagers riding bikes down the road with this fish slung over his shoulder,
Priceless !

Nice fish, man. It's always those secret and unfished ponds that have that grand daddy hungry and lurking.

california holds the record for largest bass. florida is the only state that can keep up with large bass being caught. seriously though if you seen the pond u would shit. the water here is mostly brackish. so theres a lot of times you will be bass fishing and hook a snook or tarpon in a pond or lake its quite common. the water is either clear or brown. the brown water im not sure what causes it but it happens after the pond or lake has been there for a while. sediments and mercury probably. but a rule of thumb is if the water is brown there could be snook in it too. even land locked ponds and lakes. i used to fish this small pond about the size of a large gas station and i would fly fish and there were 2 and 3 ft tarpon in it and i would catch them on 6 and 8 lb test line so that was fun

I caught a bass down at the local Grist MILL Pond. (where they grind corn into corn meal)
He was too big to weigh, but he was so big, when I pulled him out of the pond, the water went down two feet and the Mill Un-ground nine bushels of corn.

they are saying red tide is comming down this way. i hate red tide so much cuz it kills off saltwater fish and it stinks at the beach and dead fish everywhere. it will also give you headaches
