The Bare Minimum?

What exactly is the bare minimum for growing weed? Like how small can you really go in terms of space (in a grow room)? How big do the pots i'm growing them need to be for their different stages?

Questions like that i'm hoping maybe someone can answer.

You can go space bucket. But thats really small. 5 gallon bucket with tops cut off to add height tons of vids on YouTube. Its pretty easy. Just make sure you wire everything correctly. If you buy everything online, you can do a space bucket build for like 100 bucks.

Personally I'd say a 2x2x4 grow tent. 2 or 3 gallon nursery pots. Some sort of lighting (i just went with LED). And eventually fans and ventilation.

dont even bother with a tent there a pain the ass, buy a cheap ballast and a cheap wing reflector with mh and an hps bulb. get a 4” fan and a carbon filter for the fan and find a closet in your basement. thats prolly the cheapest.

It really depends on what you mean by bare minimum. Weed plants can survive alot of abuse and neglect

I have a clone that i did an experiment with. She was kept in my tent in a tiny pot and just neglected entirely and was completely over shaded by the larger plants. This is 54 days of flower.

It will only produce maybe a joint. But its interesting to see what it could withstand. Will also be interesting to smoke and compare to her mother (see last photo).

The bare minimum to grow a few grams or the bare minimum to grow a lb? Gotta be more specific. As others have stated, you don't need to spend a lot to grow a decent amount of weed-a 600 watt HPS is $129, you could drill holes in 5 gal buckets and fill with a quality potting soil/perlite and use maxibloom for fertilizer...awesome grow for $200ish, that is, if you have a decent place to put it to begin with-large closet or basement, and I'm factoring in stuff you might have on hand, like room fans-you will need lots of circulation. If you have humidity issues, that may be something you can't work around without a major purchase.

IF you had a dedicated circut in a coat closet ( 36" x 24" ) and you could vent that space, you would be able to hang a 600w h.i.d. or l e.d. light and grow one medium sized shrub or 30 single cola plants. If everything was correct either plant option could yield 4 to 16 Oz. depending on what equipment $ and time $$$ you invest. Typically in this set up being bare minimum you probably will spend more time due to lack of space to maneuver as you tend to your crop daily 20 min + daily from start to veg and 30+ min minimum daily during flower.
