I googled about it and there are some scary reviews...

A lot of people have gone to the hospital because while putting the aqua globe in the dirt the glass shattered while they were doing it and a lot of them had to get stitches lol

.....people are stupid, lets take this thin cheaply made glass ball and push on it as hard as i can to get it into this overly packed dirt i use on my plants...... sounds like a good idea

i've seen homemade aqua globes in use for outdoor stuff though, and it works great.. you can make them out of 2 liters or gallon jugs.. you just bury them underground with small holes at the bottom, and they will replace air with water in the soil and keep your plants fed for a long time. this works great if your having dry spells, and you can get to your plants intermittenly with no good water sources around like creeks etc... also can use nutes in the water to ensure good growth.
