Here is a pic of the Mulanje Gold Landrace Sativa as ripe as I could get it.

You can see how the leaves are showing an amber edge. I still have not seen a picture of what a hair receding into a calyx looks like but I have seen the calyxes swell very big.

Do you have any pics of the hairs receding Hyroot?

A good piece of advice I got was to take a few buds at different weeks to see what turned out the best. I like my sativa very ripe and my indica early and clear. It is all personal preference.

Mo

^^^^^ yeah I'll post later. I keep lagging on other pics. When you see very little amount of hairs left or they are very short. There's sometimes still white hairs that haven't receded. Its the orangeish brownish hairs that recede.

Hey guys I took a few pics of the top buds of the NLxNL to post up, I'll get them up soon. I would describe it as no doubt SOME hairs have receded, but definitely not all of them? Actually, it's more like... majority have turned red and receded, while there is still a good amount of white hairs throughout the surface of the colas as well. However these hairs do not stand up anymore, they now sort of curl back against the body, but remain white and plump rather than dried up like the red hairs.

I figure i'm going to see those that are curled in start to red off soon as well, like they are on their last leg of white basically and that's why they've already curled in. Either that or all the red hairs receding is influencing the growth path of the newer hairs.

Anyway... I figure it is definitely close but not quite where I want it yet. I am thinking this week though. I'm keeping an eye on the amounts of amber every day.

Hang on I got pics from yesterday... comin soon

Also, I may very well do a fractional harvest because the lower buds are obviously less developed. Initial plan was to let the tops get as ripe as I could allow to allow the bottoms to fill out more, but I may take the tops early.

Here's some cola-top shots close up so you can see the business with the hairs:

Main cola top:

A secondary cola top:

Like I said I feel like they're close but not done yet... but open to opinions...

Here are some more shots for fun:

The whole canopy after I spread things out to catch the light more... first shot is the grow lights on, second shot is grow lights on but filtered through a special pair of laser goggles... does funny things to the color range:

Here's the main cola from the NLxNL in sillhouette against my homemade lightbox :)

Main cola of C99:

They are all gorgeous! It seems to still have a majority of white hairs. I will post a pic of Ripped Bubba that Nugbuckets grew and see what it looked like:

I can't tell what the ratio is like. Not many hairs :P

Word... like I said getting there but not finished...

I just put it an order with Sannies for new stock.. I am trying Eskobar's stuff this time instead of Sannies... I grabbed Cheeseberry Haze regs and Candy Kush fems. :)

I hear good things about the Eskobar gear!
Yeah I was reading up on his stuff lately and he's getting a lot of praise... the cheeseberry haze is supposed to be bomb diggity... the prices are right too, at like 31 a pack for Esko's while sannies' strains are in the 40's... so I thought I'd give it a shot since I'm pretty poor... by going with his strains and their cheapest shipping method I was able to afford two strains :)

I almost went with just one to save money (10 seeds for like 37 shipped, pretty awesome) but I wanted to make sure I'd have an indica-leaning strain on hand for when the cheeseberry haze finishes out, since that's gonna be pretty sativa and I demand variety. ;)

Took a bunch of macro shots of the more mature Kolossi... was really trying to get these crests of ultra-concentrated trichome deposits that are forming along the edges of the knobs that are growing out of some of the bigger buds... and then I just took a bunch more just because. Here ya go:

sativas will ripen if left long enough.,. but most sativas will take foreever to amber up.. mainly u wana pull sats when there CLOUDY .. i last grew a Original Haze.. and it was in flower for 16 weeks.. until week 13 . everything was clear.. and by week 16 . everything had gone cloudy.. i let a few clones of her go to week 18.. another clone at 20.. and another one at 22.. by 22 weeks.. i only had maybe 5 percent amber .. but the cloudy did get much cloudier like super cloudy compared to the 16 weekers.

Beautiful buds. I wish my camera could do macro shots like that.
Yeah I'd love to get my hands on a real macro-capable DSLR... these shots are from a point and shoot (panasonic lumix, DMC-ZS15) but it has a sort of faux-macro that lets you get ultra close but uses the digital zoom to accomplish it... so as a result the final shots don't look quite as sharp as they would if it were a real macro close-up... ah well, someday!

Been reading all these threads about how femaleseeds c99 needs to be harvest before about 55 days in order to get the "uniquely psychedelic" qualities that C99 is supposedly known for. I don't know if that's true or not... last run I didn't find it particularly trippy but I'm almost positive I let it ripen too far too.

Soooo, since I'm out of bud anyway, (haha) I decided to trim a medium nug which I'm gonna start quick drying in a dehydrator now. I'm already past 55 days but I think I got set back a little with cold night temps while I was out of town a couple different times during this run... wouldn't be surprised if I dipped down to around 50 and growth slowed or stalled a bit at night. (and I was gone for about a week each time, so that adds up)

Who knows though, haha. I figured trying some is the safe bet ;)
