Oh and a cup date update without pictures: mines still small, and it hasnt really shown sex yet, well i can tell its a girl but no real budding still.......so i think that since theres no buds starting yet maybe the flowering is all still to come and so im hoping that it still gets bigger before it gets into real flower. Maybe. Dunno. What i do know is that im feeding my cup every two days now and its got some way better roots in there now, and this is going to be a long contest. I was under the impression that this would take 9 weeks because thats what the flower time on my plant is. Ive been at this almost a month and i dont even see a bud forming yet...so im guessing that its still going to be 9 weeks from when buds start really going? Anyone thats done this before have an opinion on what the time frame should be like?
It's typically 11-13 weeks minimum, strain dependant of course. It's like 3-4 weeks + typical flowering time for the strain...

its looking pretty big since i saw it last, and nice and green. ;)
well i hope that one of the sponsors is giving light to the contestant with the prettiest hands because you beat all these fat fingered hairy wristed guys so far. What do you have for lights going right now?
is that all purple or is that like something that the cameras doing? The calyxes look like theyre stacking purple o_O
holy fat stem batman! Shes gonna give weedzilla a run for it i think....
It's definitely stacking purple. With the parents I don't really know where the purple trait is coming from, but she's pretty. The male threw purple too. I'm assuming the purple is coming out of the master og seeds I was gifted and something about crossing it with Tahoe made the babies purple.

I know I'm not competing yield wise if these hydro guys finish, but best bring your A game for fire, because the little plant I've got is looking to be a stunner.

I would say add 3-5 weeks to flower time for the natural vegetative state with seeds. They have to mature at somepoint lol.

Weedzilla is still hanging in there, but she looks she went ten rounds with mothra. Bad news is she's not getting much better good news is she's not getting worse. I started a new job 2 weeks ago and it came with 3 hours drive time each way. Damn my eyes. View attachment 3644317
this is my artistic representation of our two plants next to each other. I dont know why but im strangely turned on by this photo. o_Oimage.png

I don't think any of us are competing for yield except the two big hydro plants lol. They're competing to finish, we're all going for fuego over mass think :)

Im doing a hydro plant too. Mines just a different method. I went with the purist approach. Dwc in a cup with no holes. With all the holes and like a huge rez, its just like doing a five gallon dwc with pruned roots. Not that im against the strategy in any way. I just wanted to see what i can do with just a cup full of water for my first time. Whatever those guys are doing im sure is out of necessity since ill probably be refilling my rez four times a day soon. :):):)

Haha, makes sense. The hydro res size does make a huge difference. I think that will root pruning you put your plans into stress every time, so the confinement may be a benefit and an obstacle lol. And mines only soil because of the way I'm growing it lol. It's peat/coco/perlite. Lol.

I growing in a cup of soil too. I really wanted to try hydro for fun, but I was just finishing my new grow room. I went from two 4x4 tents to a 14x14 flower room and it was way more work than I anticipated. I barely made the start date. I'll learn a lot this time and try hydro next time, I'm a newbie at indoor growing so I'm going for the best Newbie Entry Award. Yes, I just made that up, but since this is my 3rd indoor grow, it will be a miracle if I finish! :leaf::weed:

I'm on a similar boat. I didn't have the time or energy to put into a real hydro run in a solo cup. Have so many testers running and my new aero setup, I'm just glad I had enough space to fit this in.

Anybody notice the rootball shot of my hydro cup? I have NO holes in the bottom of my cup.
Basically it's just a micro single rdwc module with no drain holes at the bottom to clog. :hump:
I thought you had a hole in the bottom. How are you recycling the water from the Rez?

I don't have any holes in mine either. I cut holes in the shot glass that holds the peat. After that I just fill the cup enough to grab my root. If my plant gets a funny color, I empty and refill. Pretty much playing by ear. I'm starting to wonder if it's really a girl tho. Getting a bit too bulby on top there. But meh, I have 3 hempies that are being all coy about the gender thing.

Never a good sign when they are all coy on the gender thing!

Just planted the 2 non-selected cup plants in 5 gallon pots and put them back in my veg room. The tall thinner cup was root bound already and the shorter wider cup had lots of room left. I wish I had picked a plant with the shorter cup to continue on with. But, I'm learning!

The 2 plants in the center are the solo cup plants and there are four Heisenburg Auto's around them from the Vault. Their promotions are incredible!
