I'm sure the quality of beasters varies a bit, but the stuff I got was always the same. Big round nugs that looked like they might be okay from a distance, but smelled and tasted like moldy hay and never really got you high. The mexican shwag I used to get in high school didn't look nearly as good, but the smell, taste, and effects were superior to the beasters I encountered a few years later. I was told by my dealer that the beasters were chopped, thrown into a five gallon bucket and left to dry, no wonder they smelled like moldy hay. I'm guessing by the way you describe your experience with beasters that you were getting beasters from a grower who took much more care in drying and curing the bud, and was probably a different strain altogether. All I know is the beasters I used to get were complete garbage. Some of that beasters was pretty good shit compared to the mexi, which was always a toss up.
Beasters was not nearly as compressed, few beans, and pretty dense. It was a nice break and I was always happy when the outdoor harvest made its way across the border
