The title says it all. Because of this wonderfull forum and it members willing to teach the new guys.
I am now able to make female pollen, Store the pollen and have a succesfull breeding line and another on the way.
I like to make names as you can tell below.

If you dont mind me asking spek are you using codial silver or tiresas mist? i used the mist the 1st time around but now im using 50 ppm coldial silver

i unfortunately did 1 ft tall plant to get pollen and it was waaaaaaaay to much pollen . lesson leared

so when it comes to naming plants. people can just throw names out for any cross that ever happens? or back cross? i thought you had to have the traits stable and to have its own name had to be a cross between f1's or landrace strains or something like that im not much on breeding so if someone could elaborate?

How do you store pollen?


I have made a ton of fem seeds and have never stored the pollen.
I was thinking of getting pollen on qtips, then drying them out in an airtight container. Then into the fridge and then maybe a few into the freezer.

I am getting ready to make blueberry fem seeds.

I just use a vaccume sealer for jars or you can use it with bags, i would just keep the pollen in the sacks, that seems to work the best for me.

seeds are moving along quite nice. i want to say, be VERY VERY carefull with the pollen. i will have hundreds of seeds now because of a mishap with air circulation not being off. on the upside... i'll be all stocked up and dont have to wait for clones or seeds from the UK. the next project will be backing up a " pure G13 " i had got through a friend of a friend, doubt its pure but it looks like it very much.

I read somewhere on here you can collect the pollen in a plastic straw sealed at both ends with a lighter, and then stash it in a cool, dry, dark place.
