So termites have been plaguing my grow recently. I sprayed the hell out of em with azamax so hopefully it helps. If they dont die it should stop them from reproducing. I don't have pics of the damage yet but will in a few days. Anyone else care to share their past experience or knowledge with these pests? I also noticed that whenever theres a termite i also see tons of ants (only on the ground near the termites not on the plant tho) Thanks!!

It's usually too late when you see the plant dieing. The Azamax will kill them if you get it down around the main stem where they are traveling, but the damage has probably already been done.

I've been told to use "more" dolomite lime when preparing the holes but I don't think that is effective. The best stuff is gonna cost you but to effectively prevent and kill them you need a termiticide. Look at using this next year.

http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/dominion-2l-termiticide-concentrate-p-1223.html

Dominion 2L is an excellent termiticide and insecticide used for the control of subterranean termites and contains the exact same active ingredient and precentage as Premise 2 and I Maxx Pro 2F. Dominion 2L can be sprayed directly on an active termite infestation, or poured in the ground around a home or building to protect against subterranean termites. Dominion 2L is also non-repellent, meaning that termites will crawl over the product without detecting it, and spread it to each other by touch and food sharing, eventually eliminating the entire infestation. Yields 50 gallons of finished solution per bottle.

This is the only stuff I've found safe enough to use around my plants. Good luck fighting the little pricks.

If they are subteranian termites and your plants (hopefully are in pots) put a plastic trashbag around it. They will not be able
to get through the plastic bag and the termites inside will die if they are excluded from the nest. Ants commonly feed on termites
and that's why when you see termites around you are bound to find ants.

Good Luck!!! :-D

I had it happen last year. My problem came on because I built planter boxes out of old railroad ties and imported them in the wood. They killed the two plants I had in there. Home Depot has termite stakes that are supposed to kill them, I put some in the garden near the ties and hopefully that will take care of em. Not sure yet, we shall see.
I sympathise with your delema. You gotta get the nest or you wont kill em all.
