Term question: trim vs trim, smoke & bud

I'm making tincture & the recipe calls for either
2 oz trim
or
1- 1 1/2 oz Trim Smoke and Bud

What's the difference between trim & trim, smoke & bud?

I'm getting ready to decarb 2 oz of what I harvested, and I it's bud with a little bit of sugar leaf mixed in with it. Is the sugar leaf "trim"?

IMHO, If the leaf still has some "sugar" (trichomes), then yes I call it "trim" and there might be a very small amout of stems. I also think of the term "shake" like the broken pieces of Almond Roca after the full size pieces (buds) have been removed from the container. It's what was left over.

The ratio difference is most likely due to the difference in THC content. More product if it's weaker quality. I do the same.

I should also add that I have seen people offer water leaf and stems only as "shake,", which had been so finely ground that you don't really know what it is. There was a local dispensary that was doing this.

If I had to guess I would say
The 2.0z is sweet leaf.
The good stuff trimmed from the buds.
Not the big leafs.

The 1 1/2 oz option would be sweet leaf mixed with the underdeveloped buds. Larf

"Trim smoke and bud"
Just sounds like a poor translation.

I have never heard it before and im old as fuck.

Sounded weird to me, too; just had to ask. I had a jar of loose bud and sugar leaves mixed, so I used 2 oz to be sure it's strong enough. It's for pain, and it's the first batch I've made with this plant (Afghan). Before, we've just had seeds of unknown origin...You know, a friend was given a bag of seeds and offers us a handful :D. It was before I knew I could order online, and I have no idea what it is. I'm ill and don't get stoned; no euphoria,....but it helps my nausea and pain, and also anxiety, of course ...don't know why I added all of this.... I guess since I just smoked some of the AK 47, it must be doing something to my head, too (:.
Also, I figured the trim might mean just sugar leaves, but wasn't sure.
Tincture's in the freezer, waiting for me to shake it for the next week. Then, I'm looking forward to it!

I've always used my popcorn buds and sugar leaves, but recently I started making my butter or coconut oil with all primo bud and it's night and day..! (1oz. per lb. butter)

I would guess it's more than twice as strong as just popcorn bud and sugar Leaf alone

I might eat three or four cookies of the popcorn and shake but I had trouble with just one cookie of this latest batch of just tops!

From now on sugar leaf and popcorn bud go in the hash bin

@Beachwalker, That's how I did mine; jars with buds; and jars with popcorn buds & sugar leaves. So, I would have thought that the stronger ones would be used for hash..... I'm about to make my first hash, so this is a good place to start. I use hash to sleep. So far, I've only used hash bought at a dispensary, and it's the only thing that will get me to sleep through the night. Will homemade hash with the popcorn/sugar leaves be strong enough for that?
