Tent within a tent

Hey all, I'm on the East Coast and have two tents in my unfinished basement basement is 1700 square feet.

Eventually the goal would be to frame out and build an actual room, but for now......

What if I were to get a 10x10 grow tent and put my two smaller tents inside of it? I could then put in a small heater and perhaps a standalone AC unit in the larger tent. The goal is to control the environment in the large tent, serving as a lung room. The two 2x4 tents would each have their own carbon filter that vents inside the large tent.

If I had an AC unit exhausting air out of the large tent into my basement, is this okay? I would imagine that it's going to need to pull air into the 10x10 as well but bringing in unconditioned air from the basement sounds like it's defeating the whole purpose of the lung room.

I'm new to this and can definitely benefit from a few links to how how people properly set up a dedicated grow room.

I think it could work. As you say, the big tent would serve as a lung room. A portable AC could feed cool air into the lung tent and exhaust the hot outsdoors. With some ducting, a mini-split could also feed cool air into the tent from the basement and provide air exchange.

An AC exhausting hot air into the basement seems counter productive.

I don't think this is anything magical, but connecting to their controller is rather nice.

Yes! I saw that. Expensive but I like their gear.

The AC unit would really only be for drying the main issue is battling the cold temps in winter and the high humidity in summer.

If I could seal off the large tent/ lung room from the basement this would be ideal. I just don't know if that is feasible. Is that enough air for the plants to just keep recirculating within the large 10x10 tent?

If I need to exhaust air out of the lung tent and into my basement, I would then need to bring unconditioned air from the basement into the lung tent which would defeat the purpose.

So basically, the two tents would be exhausting air into the 10x10 lung tent. The air would then be conditioned by either a heater or dehumidifier and then fed back into the grow tents.

My concern would be adequate levels of CO2.
