Alright I've finally got all my peices together for the tent grow. I had to wait until the first of the year because I have alot of company coming over. Anyhow here are some pics...the only thing I am unsure about is the filter placement, should I not have it attached the the fixture? As in should I had some more ducting running down a bit then attach the filter to that? Or is this fine. Thanks in advice fellasDSC00627.jpg

And here are 2 more pics just to show you what all of your help has done for my setup! Thanks First one here is just my fan that I secured to my ceiling joised second one is how it finished on the outside of my house. No one would ever be able to tell what its for haha Look just like a bathroom exhaust or dryer.

its a weak filter. most likely wont last half way through flowering. just my opinion though. ive had to relocate into an apartment and am forced to use a 4x4 tent. my carbon filter was too big to be hanging in the tent, so i actually just have it outside of the tent blowing the air from inside through it, out into the room. I put a boxfan in the window to cool the room down. Anyway, if i dont have that filter hooked up it stinks up the entire front (outside) of the building.

Is there glass in that hood or is it just open? If it's just open on the underside that filter is pointless how it's set up because it's just gonna suck air in from there and not even use the filter. So ideally you'd want the filter inline in-between the hood and the fan or at least in-between the fan and the exit to the outside. You may want to consider getting a different/bigger inline type of filter. =)

okay heres my 2cents, why use the tent?you already have the room tied up and obviously your not worried about noise i have that same fan.temps and humidity will b easier to control without the tent also u can get a better filter and move your filter and fan so it blows through the light instead of sucking out of it

all the vented hoods ive ever seen have glass in them would be pointless otherwise

UGH! I have a love/hate relationship with this website lol. Everytime I come here I end up spending money.

So I guess what I am left with is.....get a better filter lol. My new plan since I have no room to mount a filter between the wall and the fan. new setup will be Air from outside grow space-->Dust filter-->CoolTube-->Inlinefan-->Outside

Then for the smell. GrowSpace-->4"Vortexinline-->4"Caron Filter-->Bedroom This way the heat from the light gets exhausted outdoors with no odor, and the growspace gets exhausted through the filter to eliminate smell.
Will something like this treat the odor issue? http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/carbonaire-inch-carbon-filter-p-1378.html

Its better to pull air across the light rather then pushing the air accross the light........ also why not use the tent?? i think your smart for using the tent...just makes life so much easyer all around really.....you can still control the heat issue with a tent i do and mine works great....

Dude trust me, these guys are paranoid. Not all weed smell megga strong during flower. If you must spend more money then you can get a electronic deionizer. It is a machine that takes all smells away, you just run that baby with the carbon filter you have and you will be fine. I would also imagine that vent is not directly out, if it is and the deionizer is to expensive you could also ad another carbon filter on the exhoust end.

Your setup seems fine to me.....except you seem to be pulling air accross the hub/bulb-base......would be cooler with socket positioned beside the filter......Those type filters will usually last through a grow....can be washed to activate the charcoal a little longer. I use a cannister CC and exhaust into my room with no smell and pull fresh air from outside....
