Temps too high!

i just built my small grow cab but the temps are a little too high. After having the lights on for about 2 hours the temp was 88 and humidity at about 35%. I want to get the temperature into the 70's. My setup is a 95cfm pc fan attached to a carbon filter for exhaust, a 2'' hole for a passive intake, and a small pc fan blowing at the bulbs on the inside. Im using (2) 70w hps bulbs in a box with dimensions 28''X11''X35''. Any suggestions on how I can lower my temps? I considered adding another pc fan to the exhaust to make it stronger, share your thoughts. Thanx

Bigger fan, thats what I had to do.I upgraded to a 6 inch,my 4 inch was too small.6 inch eco plus by sunlight supply is about 135.00 and vortex is 250.00

Your problem is that you've got TWO 70w HPS lights in that tight space.. HEAT FACTORY. When you're talkin in inches, CFL should be the only light you use. I don't think you'll be able to move enough air to help your situation especially if you're moving it through a filter. I'd dump one of the lights. With 28" of length, You can probably fit a 200w CFL and still have less problems with heat.

You have a 95CFM fan that's restricted further by a carbon filter?

You might as well put your ass in the grow box and release a steady stream of farts - that'll give you more air movement than that fan will.

In all honesty, you're gonna need to upgrade - a 4" inline fan is like $70 if you look around online, and that'll do wonders for you.

Good luck.

The reason Im using pc fans is because all the inline fans i found at hardware stores have around the same cfm as the pc fan and were also axial, and all the more powerful fans i saw online were at least $100. Im kinda on a budget and i dont want to spend more on my fan than i did on everything else put together. If i can get away with adding another intake hole and an additional pc fan on the exhaust it would be much easier because i already cut a 5 inch hole for this fan. easier on the wallet also;) Could this work?

garbage in, garbage out. ventilation and temps are key. do not skimp on the fan, if you cant get a decent fan get a few of the home depot duct boosters
