Temperature effect on bud density?

I live on the gulf coast. This summer we had at least 40 days where the temperature was over 100 degrees. My plant started flowering in early July and was exposed to extreme heat right up until harvest last weekend. How much of a factor is heat when it comes to bud density? The buds looked and felt excellent while growing, but seem a bit airy after drying. Do any of you deep south guys grow spring and /or autumn crops? I'm thinking that might help bud density.

I’m thinking you harvested to early any pics ?
Sorry, I don't have any pictures. But at harvest time the pistils were mostly brown and receded and the tricomes were about 40 to 50% amber. After 65+ days flowering, the plant looked ripe. I'm thinking that if I start seeds indoors around New Year and move them outside around March 1, they might do better.

Personally, I harvest based on the calyxes swelling more than anything else. I do look at pistils and trichomes, but Judging maturity based on trichomes or pistils is much more nuanced and less reliable in my opinion. I wait for all(or almost all) the calyxes to swell up like a bunch of grapes as my primary indicator but also look at pistils and trichomes. 65 days is short too for the majority of strains.
